What am I looking at for whp on an NA KA24DE (dohc) if I do catback, intake, headers, cams, pistons, rods, port and polish... ect. How much am I looking at total. And is it worth it. I am looking to spend around 1500-2000 on this car. Just let me know if that is reasonable. I know the pistons and rods prolly not, but can I get cams that I wont have to change the pistons and rods out. Will they be worth it and is port and polish really worth it. Also what is the stock rwhp of a KA with around 80k on the motor.

Oh I didn't know about the HP I was just trying to sound smart, anyways I'm only 15 so I don't know too too much. Although I will hopefully get a 240 in a few months!!
Not quite sure what to do with it when I get it, but I will hopefully have $1,000 when I get it to mod and such!!

Why does everyone think that need "XXX" amount of Horsepower?
Why is 200 a magic number for an NA engine?
Mod the engine, and if it makes you smile when you get done, who cares how much it puts out?
if you want to run NA, go NA..
If you want a hairdryer, put one on..
but as far a a HP number, it is worthless for anything except bragging on the internet.

crower v2's (i think those are the right ones) make +15hp/+15tq on a stock DE. just throwing that out there. no supporting mods, and 15hp and tq at the wheels. that's pretty impressive to me.

$1000 wont get you very far with this car at all. unless you like go all-ebay on it. even then. shoddy parts and all, you're just asking for trouble down the road.
