i am currently searching for a gold brembo caliper for the rear of my 240sx, to compliment the 350z front brembos i have. in searching for this i came across a thread at RecingBrake Forums
http://forums.racingbrake.com/showthread.php?t=139

it seems i can use the STi rear brembo calipers as a direct bolt on to my rear hubs... i have confirmed this with a thread i found on 240sx forums,
http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67694&highlight=big+brake

so it seems with the STi rear calipers and the evo rotors, all i need is a spacer behind the caliper to make it all line up properly.
my problem lies in the e-brake drum setup.
the most suitable result i can find is the 300zx e-brake setup,
http://importnut.net/300zxbrakeswap-ebrake.htm

however, in order to use this e brake setup, it seems i need an inner drum diameter than the evo rotors allow, from what i gather it needs to be 4mm larger, to match the inner diameter of the 300zx rotor.

also , i need it in a 4x114 bolt pattern, standard on the s13 240sx

my question for you guys, is can anyone confirm this information for me, if it is true, i think i can get RacingBrake to make me two 2-piece rear EVO rotors, with a 300zx e-brake inner diameter.

can someone please help me with this, i've been stumbling with this for days

OH MY GOD.. Subaru wants 1250.00 a piece for the rear STi Calipers!!!

I dont know if I am really going to awnser your question. First of all, if you have any company custom make anything its going to be too expensive. Now if they have 2 piece rear rotors, theoretically you could take the drum of a 300zx and pair it with the rotor part of the evo. But you would have to call racingbrake about that.

Now I just dont understand why you are going through all the trouble of getting a custom rotor. With the sti rear caliper, all you need is the 300zx rotor with the e brake assembly and its all bolt on. There is no point in getting a evo rear rotor because then you cant use the ebrake. Only thing is that the 300zx rotor is smaller width so you will have to replace the brake pad sooner.

I mocked up my brembo setup on the rear and everything looks good with the 300zx rotor. I actually have a r34 brembo rear but honestly its the exact same caliper as the sti rear. The good thing is that I got it for 150 dollars shipped. If you are looking for sti rear, you are looking at at least 400 dollars.

I cant wait to get everything bolted up. In addition to the r34 rear, I bought front sti brembo to put on my s14. Im just waiting on my bracket material to come in. Also Im kinda lazy because its freezing up here in michigan.

whats wrong with GTR rear brakes - vspec had brembos.
this is why we keep joel around!

Just find a set of skyline rear brembos, and get them powdercoated gold. Its actually called "brembo gold" and I'm pretty sure that TRGcoating.com can do it for you. You can even bolt on the Skyline ebrakes!

Much cheaper than using the STi calipers, evo rotors and installing a line lock ebrake.

Hey another michigander, weren't you on michigannissans.com? So R34 rear calipers are the same as the STi's. Hmm that makes me want to do this again, even tho this is overkill on a 240.

Yes I used to go on michigannissans.com until the site went down. The site sucked anyway.

Yes I found out that r34 gtr brembo are the same exact calipers as the rear sti brembo. I already test fitted my brembos with the 300zx rotors and its a perfect fit.

I agree this brembo setup is overkill on the 240sx. I previously had the r33 gts brake setup and I felt it was sufficient for the 240sx. By the way if anyone is interested in my r33 setup, its for sale. Email me at driftmistertwo@yahoo.com for pics and info. But basically the only reason I upgraded to the brembos was for the look and price. I got two front sti brembo for 250 dollars and then the r34 for 150 dollars. I wanted a brake setup that filled out the rim and I love that gold bling. My car is gold with bronze wheels so the brembos will look sick on it. And the better braking performance is a bonus.

The thing I am most impressed with is that the sti front brake pad sweeps the entire area of the rotor where the 300zx/r33 pad only sweeps about 75 percent of the rotor. I plan on doing some road racing this summer so the brembos will come in handy.

Hey guys I'm new here and the reason I came across this thread was searching for brake upgrades for my 240 (wana b drifter / racer LOL)

My buddy races using Racingbrake rotors and calipers in NASA ST1 class with this rx7 and he raves about temps being down and the rotors showing almost no wear. He actually stopped venting air to the rear because he says the 2pc runs a lot cooler than any other rotors he's put on. He's really into it so I would want the same quality for my car. Eventho i'm just beginning to do track events and learning about classing my brakes are what's hurting me the most right now.

Is there anything happening with the racingbrake rotors for 240guys? Group buy? Because they are pricey company even w/ the high quality but it would be nice to lower the price so its more affordable.

pretty sure they make a 1 piece rotor for the front and back of the stock 240, drilled+slotted or just slotted.... but i dont think they make a 2-piece, unless you upgrade your brakes to that of the 300zx/skyline/evo/mitsubishi rotors.... then i know they make 2-piece that will work. it's what they do. check out thier site http://www.racingbrake.com/Default.asp
