Alright, one of the guys I go to school with bought a bunch of interior shit from me, and started to build his coupe, then out of nowhere... he stopped, and is selling it.

He is TRYING to get $2,000 for it... and im making this thread to try to talk some sense into him.

its an 89 coupe, 175,000 miles (doesnt run all that great), interior is in really good shape (because it WAS mine, lol), its got new rotors and pads on either the front or rear, I cant remember, and a new clutch at the beginning of the summer, because the old one was so fried it glazed the flywheel, so that ones probably screwed now... but thats about it....
Heres some pics.

The wheels DO NOT come with the car, nor do any electronics (head unit/speakers) and its not in that great of shape underneath. (its been in the air in my garage before, so ive looked it over)

What would you guys say its worth?

Reason for this thread... I want the car, but im not paying anything close to 2k for that.

$800 would be generous, $650 would be fair, $500 seems minimum. It does run, but it looks like ass.

You don't make money off of project cars you never finish, it sounds like he's trying to up sell this car because he put some parts/work into it. Not gonna' happen.

and now im in a debate with the owner... but the price is slowly going down! Unless the asshole who told him he can come up with 2k for it comes through... in which case I wont feel bad, because it will be mommy and daddies money. And he will end up crashing it, I will buy the parts, and all of our 240's will be worth a little more because there will be one less out there!

Maybe $800 w/out wheels... And $950 with the wheels and stereo... Dude you can buy a good running DOHC(91-94) w/ good body for $1200-$2000 if you look hard enough... Dont make the mistake of paying too much for this one and be stuck with a car you really have to spend $$$ on just to get it back to decent running/looking condition. Id just wait and find one in better shape:12dunno

If I can talk him down a little it will be worth it for the interior/wheels/cd player. plus.. I have a DE I could put in it. So if it doesnt go down a good bit, im not going to look into it any farther. I just wanted something other than 'my opinion' to show him its not worth as much as he is trying to get.

I agree completely. there's plenty of nice s13s out there in the 1500 range

idk guys, hes got the ever so rare lavender frost haha, man i cant say i've ever seen one in that color thats in decent shape. mines probably the nicest of all of them i've seen and it looks awful paint-wise.

anyways though, to answer your question i'd probably give about $600 for it tops. that things in rough shape

i'd take him out for dinner and introduce him to some girls and do him another favour of taking that coupe off his hands and bringing her back to what she should be.

ok seriously though i wouldnt offer any more than 700cnd.

I have the ONLY coupe in bend, but there is this one black guy that has a red vert with dub's and a system. lmao at that. Some kid i know said coupes are the new rage.. i wouldn't know there are none around here

DO what we do best, low ball that shit.

Offer him 1000 -1500 cash.

I would look for rust- worn suspension pieces - and overall engine/electrical conditions. Does it run good? Does it smell when it runs? Do the electronics work??? How the weatherstripping- doe it leak? Has it been in an accident (is the guy telling the truth)?
