a guy local to me is selling a 240 and he says it has a rb26/30 that will crank but cuts off at idle. he says he thinks it may be an electrical problem. does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? i havent been to look at the car yet but im going to try to take a look at it somtime next week. so does anyone have any ideas? i dont know much about rb's

and considering that you dont know alot about the engine and you would be buying a hybrid engine doesnt help much either...

rb30 is a wicked motor i would imagine... Not sure of the bore/stroke, but im sure it has a much bigger crank than my 20, bigger crank, more tq.

Don't get it. RB30 isn't what you want for your first RB. I don't think I can handle it

the rb30 is a square motor...86x86, gotta love it.
rods and pistons are good for ~500hp with a decent redline, upgrade rods and pistons as well as harmonic dampener and spin her to 8.5k!
