240sx fast?

OK i know everyone here loves 240s i love them 2. BUT the only run like 16s stock i mean...that isnt fast at all. With out putting a turbo in your engine can you make these things fast?

Of course you can. You can make any car "fast" without adding forced induction to it...Unless you mean mildly modified. I've seen a few hit 15's on this board with few mods.

u have to remember that these cars were made a while ago. u have to also consider nissan has the z series... why make this high performance when they have the z.

and yes... you can spruce it up a little without FI but nothing drastic, and it will cost you a pretty penny.

true, u can make any car fast with enough money (or for cheapos.. naaaawwwwwsssss) but stock, hmm.. yea they are just another import on the block I suppose

well i know the skyline. but were talkin about the 240sx. therefore... the z is the top car it the same (USDM) market. if we were talkin about the 180sx or silvia... THEN then skyline would come into play. HELLO!!!

hell no 240's aren't fast stock.

With the 240s it's all about the potential of the car. Rear wheel drive, very neutral balance, nice styling. You couldn't ask for a better platform to build upon. Especially when you consider all of the engine swaps available. Don't count out the KA24de, however it is really overengineered when you consider the output. Forced induction isn't that expensive if you can build the plumbing yourself. Definitely the best import available for the price IMO.

I know of quite a few NA 240sx running 14.5-15.1 with all the bolt ons (Full exhaust, Intake, Pulleys, 91 cams, Ignition, ecu).

a few actually
FF drift is pretty nuts. very fun to watch..but ONLY if the driver is good. otherwise its just stupid.

ff drift is QUITE difficult, espeically if you are trying to keep w/ FR and start early and keep the speeds up.

guy i know has another hicas 240. with a MAF adapter intake and stock everythign else he runs 15.3s-15.5s on street tires. Keep in mind the LSD makes for very good 60's.

what are 91 cams? Are they just '91 240sx cams?

adding a higher octane DOES NOT advance timing on KA24DE
you must physically advance it.

engine is not like supra.
