LOL! Bob! We really did let this thread die down... Just so yall know, I'm still looking for a daily driver and talked to Corky Bell about a turbo setup for the Miata yesterday. So we'll see... Also, I think my throw-out bearing is going too. :woowooo Lucky me. :(

LOL
I'm still hunting a 4 door of some form. Kinda unsure about picking up a 325i/328i. But for now, w/ gas prices going further through the roof...the Miata will stay around and get a new o2 sensor, probably carpet, and paint...as planned.

haha, yea I haven't really spent much time at home lately. work and ladies keep me busy and away from home. :heyhey and I quit drinking too so I feel allot better because of it too.

as far as gas goes, eh I dont really complain about it anymore. My friggin DD is a tahoe lol, im saving up for a civic hatch or a crx. found a 91 crx HF for $650. (needs a new hood and has rear drivers side quarter panel damage, runs strong and passed smog. so i might pick that up)

Sounds cool, Bob. I'm thinking that if I sell the HKS turbo, Greddy FMIC, SSQV, etc, I'll return the engine to stock form, and sell the car in a semi-stock car (Tein HE and a few other things will remain on it) for like....idk...$3k or something.

However, w/ the money I make off that stuff...I might pick up a 6spd tranny, 1.8L, and 3.9 Torsen....hehehe. Good gas mileage, slightly tighter gearing for 1-5 will help at autoX, and definitely make for better MPG on the interstate....rock out!!!

Ha, I thought I could leave this damn RC car alone....

lol, wow. i just drove 100 miles to take a friend to pick up a hood and bumper for his civic(car accident) and i used up a full tank of gas in the truck.

That sucks.
Hope he paid gas.

I just found out that 949Racing has busted the 'typical' Miata.net stereotypical bubble of "Nothing bigger than a 15x7.5 will fit" again. 15x9 +36....HOLY CRAP. Too bad no one makes a 245/40/15 street tire....

well looks like i might fix up the rx7 now, im going to dmv on friday and ask what i owe for the registration fee's. if its not allot then i might smog it and fix it up for a dd. :12dunno

Ah!!! 15X9... Me wants! But not in the fugly 6UL wheels though... :(

The 7? Ruh roh... Hope it's N/A or it might be worse on gas than the SUV. :p

lol nothing can be worse than spending over $100 in 3 hours in gas lol.

im going to leave it na prolly with a mild street port or large street port. not sure yet. definably going to do up the suspension first before anything els.

Smart man... Get some vids up when you DO getting it running with the ported engine. :D

Ah!!! 15X9... Me wants! But not in the fugly 6UL wheels though... :(
If I could find another 14lbs wheel in 15x9 that didn't cost $560+, I'd go that route...but since its like...$180/wheel and stonger than any other cast wheel...I think I'll be ok w/ the 6UL's looks. HOWEVER...there's no 245/40/15 available apart from the Avon CR500...so no 15x9 for me.

Right now I've got my stimulus check sitting here though, and well..I'm thinking Koni. Nothing else really comes to mind...besides maybe some decent door panels for the Miata (Katzkins). Can you guys tell I want this car to have a high resale value? Hahaha

so far i got $400 left over from my check, and got $850 coming this next check... so ill have $500 left after my truck payment... im thinking giving my brother the 7 since he just got his l's and picking up a DC2 integra for $2g...

what should i do?

Sell them both and send me the money? :12dunno Just a thought... :p

Well, I have a dilemma.
My stimulus check is sitting here...and I'm thinking about redoing the Miata's suspension completely. Right now its sitting on FCM bumpstops, stock springs, and AGX's. However, after skimming over FCM's site, it seems Bilstein HD shocks, FM springs, and 36mm f/46mm r bumpstops w/ NB mounts might be the best idea for the car. Total would be $886 for non adjustable shocks w/ good springs, plenty o' shock travel, and great handling. The question is....do I want to buy all that shit? Hm.....

Boss Frog fender braces are going to be ordered soon too. And then the NB STB will go up for sale. Hm.....that'll be $120 back...lol. Hm.................

And yes, I know I said I wasn't going to mess w/ the Miata, but damnit, I want this car to be worth some $$$ when I sell it.

Better valving for stiffer rates than AGX plus much easier and cheaper to have rebuilt than Koni...not to mention they're cheaper than Koni.

Hmmm.... Yeah, I know the feeling about the stimulation check and what to do with it. I'm just sitting on mine right now. Guess I'll have to see where it takes me in the future. :12dunno BTW, changed out the throwout bearing in the Miata. Took two evenings so around 5.5-6 hours total. Not too bad considering we hit a few snags getting the tranny out and then mated back up. Drives good now though since we changed the tranny fluid as well. :thumbsup

^How would that pair up with your AGX's instead of the HD's?
Oh, sorry dude. Mis-read that in my previous post.
FM springs are too stiff for AGX up front, but ok in the rear. AGX on the Miata can't go past 250 lb/in in the rear, and FM's springs are 318 lb/in front and 228 lb/in rear. I could stick w/ my AGX, but I'd rather sell my stock springs, AGX, FCM bumpstops and dustboots to someone who needs them.

I'm unsure of how AGX valving applies to stiffer springs on other cars, but w/ the Miata, they're bottom of the barrel when it comes to adjustable choices. Most intelligent guys run Bilstein HD or R pkg/LE Bilsteins (they're custom made for the Miata) and say to hell w/ damping adjustment (which is actually kinda overrated) and pair them with rates at or above FM's offering.
