ok my engine is in pieces.blocks goin to the machine shop mid next week.the head i want to replace the valvetrain..ok i had a ka24e before and you could physically see the springs.the ka24de you cant see them can someonehelp me and give me advice on how to get all the valvetrain out
thanks,
ron

It's a "cam over bucket" design, the springs being under the "buckets". Untorque the cam caps in the correct sequence(you can find this in an fsm). When you take the caps off keep them facing the same direction and in the same order as they were in the head, if you put these back in the wrong way you can seize a cam and damage your whole motor. with those out you can pull the buckets out and you'll see the valve stem and spring. you should know how to remove those.

yes thats what i mean.like how to take all the stuff out?
thanks for the help

well, aside from the fact that i dont know what any of the tools are called anymore, you need a spring squeezer thing to get the retainers off, then of course the springs come off, and you can pull the valves out, or they will just fall out. either way, yeah. then your done

what type of valve spring compressor do i use for the ka24de head because of the ones i had found wont work. and do those "buckets" need to be lined up how they were before, and can i just replace the springs and be good and maybe valves
