With just an intake, header, full exhaust, and bumped timing(Basic upgrades) your looking at around a 10 to 15 hp gain est. depending on how your compression looks and how well your car was maintained. What are your hp and torque goals? And what will your car be used for?(ie. Auto X, Drag car, DD ect.)

If you looking for a nice sporty(semi-inexpensive) DD car, get yourself an I/H/E, bump your timing up and run 93 octane(Thats a free mod, but you can feel the difference)and a good cam.
That should make for a good all around DD KA.

How much money you have?

The GT3 cars running KA24E's are getting north of 250-300 out of N/A engines.
CORR off-road trucks use some monster KA's as well

na ka's max out around 200 with a lot of work put into them
GT-3 and CORR run upwards of 250 N/A hp, so no, KA's do not max out at 200hp.
Yeah, running 93 really isn't a FREE mod, but if your looking for more power your gonna have to spend a little money.

while there ARE fully race-built KA's out there that make a lot more than 200whp, that's about the limit for the pocketbook of most people, and the daily driving ability of a race motor. for all intents and purposes, 200whp is about the streetable limit for a N/A KA

KA24es are great motors, i like them alot. its hard to get alot of power out of them cheap. Your looking at thousands of dollars. your best bet is rebuild with good cam and some other performance goodies and boosting the shit out of it. Im going to be building a ka and boosting it for my project. good luck with anything you do

well thanks im kinda broke only have a cupple of geezz i was thinking of adding a cold air intake and exhaust system for now at least ^_^ and i her of something called octane boosters have any of you peeps herd of that? my friend said he put it on his car and he did feel improvements.

cams and a good tune on any ka can yeild a lot of power

"octance boosters" are shit, they boost it like a half a point per tank or some shit? but high octane doesnt automatically equal high power

the PDM cams are what i would go with.. i think theyre like almost 400 a peice before core charge, but they have some technology into them, and are really worth it in the long run.
