What would you all recommend? i have only had minor experience in turbos. i had a DSM 2 gen gst before. Should i buy like a kit with everything to turbo a KA or by things separate and which would be cheaper?

would you rather make torque and do a lot to the motor to help longevity? (you know, that thing that DSM's don't have)

or would you rather just run a stock block motor and make lots of hp?

#1: KA
#2: SR

do you like to fuck girls with a little penis and just do it really fast?

or do you want to completely ream their insides with your man-hood. and do it with torque

#1:SR
#2: must i spell it out

WELLLLLLL SIR.....You need to really sit down and really figure out what your goals are and how much disposable income you have to spend......If your just wanting to have a decent car ide just drop a sr into it with the greddy intercooler piping and call it a day....and then maybe save up later for supporting mods and a bigger turbo blah blah blah....But if your wanting to just go for high horsepower right away and have another car to run around in and dont wanna go the inline six route rb's, and 2jz's and all those other crazy swaps i would just start with what you have.....If your going to turbo your ka it is possible to do it for under 5gs....along the same priceline as a bone stock sr20..I know this because i have a fully built ka and im making around 450hp on 15lbs with a super simple set up and i have spent barely 4gs......The sr is a great motor dont get me wrong but as far as tourque and hp to doller ratio the ka has got the sr crushed but a sr is perfect for drop in performance and with a bigger turbo and sum tuning you can make 450hp to...But if you want more tourque and more bang for the buck ka is the way to go....Ill start with the bad for the ka......crank not fully counter balanced, going to need pistons...rods after 500hp...have to peice a kit together to make any real power...small headbolts so you have to do some machining to get some m11's from arp in there...But the good...Lots of support from the nissan community huge intake and exhaust ports stock with decent valve size....91 cams have a decent lift and duration....lots of tuning options...i happen to run a enthalpy ecu and my car ran perfect from day one with no problems at all.....a huge stroke on the crank 96mm if im not mistaken...89mm pistons im bored .40 over so mine are 90mm and still have plenty of space between cylinders so no overheating like some engines....but most important....you can say you went the other road when almost everyone said not to.....On 26lbs and race gas with my set up i have now i made 584hp with a ebay turbo...and on 12lbs i spank new non zo6 vetts and new evos and stis all day long and i even waste my gas on cobra mustangs sometimes...Basically it just all depands on what your looking for in your car is it a daily driver or a weekend warrior....I drive my car everyday and have never had a problem and in this florida heat its also very nice to still have my ac blowing out 40 degree air and power steering still works......

to tell you the truth i am just anxious to get another turbo but i want to use the ka. i don't really like swaps. I only really want like 250hp for a while. i dont need over 350 right now. But i wanted to just put a turbo on the stock ka and run low boost for a while while i put more into it. Like maybe 5 lbs?

i wasnt asking for super info it was actually a small question and expecting a small answer. i dont want aa swap so i am gonna turbo a ka so i guess since its too much trouble to get a small answer i will just do whatever

Your Daily driver?

Your Only car?

Well, when it breaks at the most inopportune time (and it will), you can get parts for a KA at your local auto supply...

Try doing that with an SR

But if it is your ONLY car, leave it stock, or near stock if you want reliability...

But since I tend to think a bit too logically with questions like this, to offer input to your ... Turbo the KA

I don't think he's asking whether he should swap it or turbo the ka I think he's asking how he should go about turboing the ka.

thank you. yes that is the exact question i am asking. was asking personal opinion of the build. It is my daily driver and my only car (which may i just say i wanted an s13 but man i now like s14 better whooo!) and i dont want too much power. i jsut wan something small and reliable. i want a turbo but just a small turbo to zip around town if you will and i wanted to know should i buy the parts individually or get a kit ? I planned on getting another engine cuz this one i have has 175 on it but is pretty strong but i think it would be cool to keep it and revive it. INPUT PLEASE

lol, 175 miles and revive it? HAHAHAHAHA

i have 215+ and i bounce the revs regularly. revive MY motor.

honestly, a lot of stocker turbo cars run like 5-8 lbs.. so you could do that.. maybe even on stock injectors if you rom tuned it but i dunno if i would trust them. you could just get sr injectors

back to my first post part one together. make sure you get the mods in order, and get it tuned as you go. you can get the power you want with some reliability. just make sure you get a wide band o2 and a oil pressure gauge. these are the most important for reliability and performance. egt is great but more for tuning.
