Simple as that.
I opened this to spread facts about the rotaries b/c I want to learn about them since I'm considering this swap for the Miata, and people need to know more about them b/c I said so....lol
Now, with that being said...I'll start.
Reasoning for this epiphany:
Its a lighter weight engine supposedly. There aren't any hard facts for it, but supposedly the 1.6 in my 91 weighs around 290lbs, and a 13B tips the scales around 180lbs or something. Now, please correct me if I'm wrong on that. I want this thread full of fact and intelligent discussion. Nothing else is allowed beyond some humor and porn pics.
Smoother power delivery and 10k....hehehe. Thats self-explanatory. I love the idea of revving to 10k, always have, and a Wankel is probably the easiest way to do it.
Engine placement. Low, further back, and front-mid-engine. One might say this placement is damn near perfect for the most popular and highest selling roadster of all time (800,000 and counting).
So yeah, thats all the reasoning I've got beyond the basic "pimp" factor.
If anyone knows of any non-ricer-filled forums about rotaries, post 'em. I just joined www.nopistons.com and so far I'm impressed.
Btw, Calton, carbon apex seals aren't that pricey. And there's a good read about them somewhere. I'll post it up later.
