Hello guys, my name is Josip Tomasic with some funny letters but theres no point in puting them in...
I currently own a recently totaled Vauxhall Astra sedan and a Skoda Felicia, but... the 180/240sx is my dream car and I barely found it over here in Croatia its 3,300 euros or around 5,100 dollars, its a stock 89' 180sx with a problematic turbocharger so all help is welcome.

It's A Project That Will Have A Great Outcome!!!

HEllo NIsmo Fam, My NAme is EJ. Im new To the 240 sx side of the game. HAvent even purchased my car yet but i have a plan in the making to my my project sucessfull..Starting of with about 10 grand I'm looking for a s14 shell that doesnt even have to be necessarily running. I plan on doing a motor swap for the red top sr20 anyways. along with a S15 front conversion. I'm located here in S. Florida and my best friend owns a body shop so my first step is to TOTALLY strip the car down inside and out and have him paint it a BRILLIANT White and then work my way into the suspension and brakes before i drop my motor in. I'm looking forward to hear any ideas from you guys or even suggestions. I took it upon myself to read up inside the forums before i even posted this reply so I have an idea what im looking for. Nevertheless, I'll be getting in touch with you guys. Thanks Again.

I fucking absolutly love the sr!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I cant stand the people either that want the sr because it is so powerfull. I just like it because it is a small light motor that is capable of making good power if set up properly.

Whats up. im Jason and i own a 93 240sx se. I would personally prefer rebuiding the ka and boosting it. The sr is appealing because it is already built to withstand more than the ka. However, the ka is a bigger engine, and with a rebuild and a few modifications to the engine you can make a beast. Correct me if im wrong, but it makes sense that a bigger engine is capable of more power.

A bigger engine generally can make more power depending on the head design and the parts avabiable. The Ka defenatally can make more power than the sr because the parts are avabiable and the head can be setup in a really good way. Like I always ask people though, how much power do you need? What are your plans for the car? If your into drag and all out power the ka makes since for the size and price factor. For drifters the ka can still make since for the easy to come by parts factor and the price factor as well. The thing is my sr makes more power than I would ever need and it really still isnt that crazy powerfull. With it being all aluminum, sitting back far in the engine bay and being a smaller overall motor it is a great advantage having a light small high revving motor. Comparing srs, cas, kas, rb, ect is like comparing apples and oranges. You can like all of them and have a favorite but no one can actually intelligently say one is better than the other because they are not. I stay far away from the VS threads about sr vs ka ect because you will not come out any smarter after reading it all. You have auto-xers, dragracers, street racers, budget builders, dyno competetors, ricer nut swingers, road racers, drifters ect all in the same thread trying to convince each other why motor a is better then motor b.

I really think the most desirable way to set up a s13 for about 90% of the people that own them would be a badass suspension with a few nice N/A supporting mods and a good tune on the ka. Im contimplating doing this on my daily driver if I ever decide to get another daily. I wont start building this one if I still intend to drive it every day because the stock suspension is kinda nice for everyday driving.

It is hard to compare those engines. But if you want to upgrade your 240 you have to make a decision. I would definetly be happy with an sr, but my ka only has 50,000 miles on it.

The 240 is definetly one of those cars you just can't get rid of. I get alot of crap from my friends about just getting another car instead of souping it up. The 240 isn't worth alot so you can't just trade it for a decent car, it's got alot of room under the hood and a great aftermarket support, and it looks great with a good body kit and a paint job. My friend is getting a Z for a college present for about 25,000 and he doesnt plan on doing any thing special to it. I figure my goal is to spend half as much money than that and make mine faster and look great too.
