Whats the difference between a long block and regular?
A long block has pretty much everything on it. A short block is usually minus the head, manifolds etc.

An engine swap is kind of a big task, but not as hard as you might think. More lengthy than anything. And if you take the opportunity, now's the time to paint under the hood and stuff.

A short block means block only, crank, pistons, already assemblied in it but that's all.
A long block usually just means head included too, valves cam, but no exhaust, intake manifold or distributor.
Complete engine usually means both manifolds and distributor installed, sometimes a alternator, but usually not.
Some places use all those terms kinda loosely, so you need to ask exactly what you get.

+1 on that. When I bought my KA long block, it came with EVERYTHING, even down to the altinator. But I would never guarantee that anything else would come to that.
