Changed out my clutch. Got pissed my friends wouldnt come help me put it back in so I put it in by myself with 2 jacks and a little courage. Also added the missing exhaust transmission bracket so my exhaust would quit banging the floor pan.
 
I tried changing the clutch...no luck I just got done replacing the clutch...now I can't get the tranny back in.
Is there some special technique? I've tried raising the whole thing at once, but the bell housing hits before the shaft is aligned. If I keep the back of the tranny too low, it can't make it either.

Do I need to twist the tranny to one side or another first?
I've never had this much trouble aligning any transmission before, and I've done them without a jack by myself.

I feel like I should have just paid someone to do it.

I'd appreciate any tips.

yo 240 pop, i did the same thing, well pulled the tranny and couldint get it back on.

its A LOT easier to just pull the motor. or fuck it you dont even have to pull it all the way, undo the motor mounts and exhaust, use a cherry picker (this is ghetto but if you have no cherry picker, use two jacks, put em on the front strut part/thing and a long 2x4 with chains or rope) and pull the motor out like enough to put the tranny back on, basically just tilt the engine back.
 
i installed an oil catch can, broke my front bumper in 2, raised the hood latches like 3 inches

i also helped weld a dude's z32 exhaust, made a coolant overflow reservoir out of a jolt soda can and a fitting, relocated radiator brackets, and ate some chinese food......

i love living 1/2 mile from the shop :D
 
Installed B&M short shifter and Carmo's (from Nico) 2+2 e-brake mounting bracket...

Id like some more info on that ebrake mounting bracket. One of the tabs on my z32 ebrake cables broke and I had to rig it up but it works now. It dont look like yours though how it mounts. By 2+2 do you mean that is the ebrake cable from a 4 passenger z32. If so that looks allot more heavy duty than what I have and I will need to go that rout if mine ever breaks again.
 
So i got an idea to start a thread showing/telling what you did to your 240sx..
Well i try to keep this thread updated everytime i do an upgrade but with so much work doing this and that, upgrading this and that, fixing this and that..... times go by quick so now im off today and ill post what i did within the last 3 months...

So, i had an old T3/T04B H3 turbo with small fmi (31x3x6) and small IC piping (2" hot and 2.5" cold) and it did 300 whp at 20 psi... turbo was already maxed out. I also had an old IAP manifold that kept cracking when i reached 20 psi... It was over 3 yrs old and it had cracked on me like 4 times and the 5th time it was a wake up call.... so it was time for an upgrade. So i went to Gato performance here locally and had him duplicate this IAP manifold with fatter runners and thicker flanges.
Put on a small frame T3/60-1 with a large fmi 931x12x3.5) and larger IC pping (2.5" hot and 3" cold) And dyno'd 410whp and 390 wtq at 20 psi...
After that i spray'd my IC piping with cheap chrome spray paint from discount auto.... it came out pretty dang nice cause i get LOTS of compliments. Not bad for a $5 can of chrome spray paint. And of course me for doing it the right way and not like others that think they know how to spray paint... hehe, and u wonder why theirs comes out like crap.. and they blame it on the cheap brand spray paint...
And i sprayed "ka-t" on my fmi so these idiots will stop asking me if i have an sr20, even tho i have the ka-t.org logo STAMPED on both my side windows and my liscence TAG, they still ASK... How much of an idiot are u to ask if i have an sr20 when it was labled in 3 different places and now its in 4 places.... Oh well, im gonna stop ******** and get on with it...

today i got the front end off (lights, blinker, fog, bumper), did a bit more clean up to the RB as well.
