The next step in my ongoing process is to clean up the wiring and get some of my factory features back. I think this is going to be fun for me because it involves the electronics and wiring aspect, which is something I am pretty good at already.

1) I have a cheap ass unprofessional wiring job for the e-fans. They are always on and I'd like to have them come on at the appropriate temperature because it takes my car longer to warm up and drains my battery quite a bit if I just have the accessory on while parked or something. I'll need to find the right relay and clean up the wiring here.

2) My ABS is not connected. I don't know if I really need ABS because I seem to do fine without it, but I have it and feel like I'd rather it work than not work. Another thought is to re-purpose the ABS sensors for the Traction Control on my AEM EMS, but I think that would be more of a hassle and have less results.

3) The wiring in general is a cluster-fuck (no pun intended) and I want to strip out unnecessary wires, correctly solder and wrap the existing wires, and make sure everything is connected cleanly. I wonder if some things are hooked up - like will my dash light come on if I'm low on fuel? =)

Sounds kind of silly to be going back and doing this now, but after seeing how unprofessional the work has been done on everything else (yeah, my abs lines were rubbing against the driveshaft, nobody bothered to put the clips back on them...) I think it's a good idea. When I first got my car back the whole thing kept shutting off because of a crazy short in the wiring. When I got back from vacation recently the car was dead... So I think there are still silly wiring issues.

Driveshaft should be ready Monday. Doing another dyno run on Weds.

You can use the ems to control when the fans come on and off. Looks into the low side (ground) outputs.

Thanks. I'll check that out for sure. I am more impressed with the EMS the more I work with it. I think that because it's a full featured device that it intimidates a lot of people at first glance.

Here is a picture of my new driveshaft side by side with the old S13 tube. The quality is great and it cost me $150.

The chatter and abrupt movements between gears, in 1st & 2nd at low rpm, and at launch are all but gone. The car launches a lot more aggressively and smoother now. There is overall less vibration as well. I think the old driveshaft had become "unbalanced" or something?

Are you planning to relocate your fusebox? I did mine on my S13 and I have to say it was definitely worth the work. It was kind of a pain but I love being able to look in my engine bay and have it less cluttered.

I have seen some of those before and they look amazing. I'm up for the challenge, but I don't want to lose my center console. I was thinking glove box area? I'll check out your thread. thx!
Yea I put mine in the glove box area. Since I'm not running AC I took out the guts of the AC thing that's under the dash. I think it's the evaporator? I'm not sure but then I ran my wiring through the AC holes in the firewall that goto the motor. Then I made some custom brackets to bolt the fusebox in that area. I'm planning to cut off the back of the glove box so I can still have the glove box face then just open it to access my fuses.

That thread is great. Thank you so much! The first thing I'm going to tackle is getting my lower harness to work with my reverse lights. Since I went from an automatic -> Manual that is not connected properly. It will be a good baby step for me. The rest of the stuff looks pretty straight forward, but I think it will knock me offline for no less than a weekend while I rewire everything.

Today on the dyno we had an improvement in RWHP, but we were running 15lbs instead of 20lbs and I have added a catalytic converter since the last run, so with the tuning and timing improvements, we've gained quite a bit of hp despite the decrease in boost. The 15lbs decrease was a glitch with my HKS EVC VI, somehow a setting was goofed up. We'll try it next time with the correct boost, removing the cat, and maybe even trying race gas + something like 30psi.

Keep in mind this is dyno dynamics dyno so the numbers are lower than some of the others based on the design.

I'm glad you said that because I was kind of thinking this same thing but the idea didn't make it into the discussion with the guy at the dyno facility. What do you think a good limit is for this build? 7300 RPM? I don't have upgraded valves & valve springs.

hey where can people find rb25det engines? any way of having a new crate engine from nissan? or what are some good ways?
Hey how do I start a new thread to ask questions? oh theres a new thread button....Don't thread jack.
