Damn the lexus looks sick, but what is up with the spoiler on the Camaro.
Factory Camaro SS spoiler. :12dunno

Speaking of, had a friendly run with a friend's Camaro tonight. Big cam + bolt-ons, lightened up, still on the stock tranny and converter, 4.11 gear with the same 275/60 MT radial that I have. It's a pretty solid 11 second car, has been 10.8's on the bottle before it got the cam or headers.

Being that it's still got the stock converter and a tired transmission it doesn't do much from a dead stop and takes a bit to get up into the powerband of the cam, so we went from a low roll. He took off while I was brake boosting and got about a car out on me, and with my car breaking up pretty bad (fouled a plug) I was able to come around pretty easily and walk away hard. Once I get the ignition bugs worked out we'll probably run again, with him on the bottle. Fun night.

Friend of mine and me did this today , was pretty painless, exept for accidently putting the cam timing in reverse (180*) that made for some LOUD pops :D, long story short, after we played with the distributor a bit (damn timing) the car finally started.

- My water pump was an 11 Bolt, My cars build date is 6/93. I know there was a lengthy discussion about this. Scared me at first, but ended up being fine.

- Everything bolted up (minor cutting of the batt tray to fit the shorud) and the rad fit PERFECT, all we did was flip the rubber mounts upside down, and the top brackets bolted perfectly with no modifications.

- All that has to be done is: Im waiting on some water pump O rings (the one that connects the pump to the engine via the bypass pipe) cause one of them was brittle and broke, so he threw some sealant as a temp fix until my rings come in sat morning (4 bleeping 80 per bleeping ring :thumbdn:) Only one is leaking slightly, but i'll replace all of them. and im going to need a new shroud, the one i got has seen better days, and is being held on by zipties...:egads:

Rad: Mishimoto Supra TT fitement
Waterpump: Aisin (exact part# from Supra)
Belt: OEM
Tools: Impact Gun/Chain Wrench/Prying bar

and thats my friend in the pics

Do some people run those engines with clear or no timing belt cover? I see a lot with an exposed chain, and I must say, it's pretty sexy.

Yup. Some run without the top timing cover. I run mine because my cam egars are ugly and rusted and brown n shit. :embarasse

Do Work SON!!!! i learned a lot by watching, and helping. Tbelt is super easy! hardest part is just removing the crank bolt (cake with a chain wrench and a good tug.

So can you get these things in manual? I know they are RWD, and they are really sexy cars, but the only ones I have seen are A/T.

Yup. Very rare too. i believe 10% of total production was manual.

I would love to drift one of these things. Are there any M/T that bolt up? I can't for the life of me remember which engine is in the car haha.

Just the Toyota W58 (thats comes stock with the 5spd models), R154, and the V160.

Hmmm, that sounds like a future project that would be enjoyable. I just love the exterior of the sc300, it's all curvy and sexy haha.

Dude, I didn't know you had a manual sc300. I am envious.

:thumbsup read the 1st post mister LOL

update:

Water pump o ring is in, and not leaking. I had to run to home depot (after going to toyota/lexus. both had to order... umm fook u guys) got a M6-1.0 and a locking washer and put some silicone lube on the ring, and FWOOP the oring slid right in.

Just need to redo the base timing. it is way off. When i adjust it the LOWEST the mark on the crank pulley goes is 0*, and it goes up to who knows how far (almost pointing to the upper rad hose) so somehow i need to re-align the distributor. i know something isint aligned right, because when i move the distributor foward i run out of adjustment, and it stops @ 0*, when i still need a fair amount of adjustment to get it to 10*BTDC. When i move the dist. foward, my idle improves, and the overall sound of my car gets better.

a freind of mine is gonna come to the rescue before i pop a motor lol.

it is the ONLY thing that is keeping me from hauling ass and attending meets :( stupid timing. i had it right the first time (when i put the wrong oring on the water pump) somehow i got it spot on) But i spent close to 5 hours fiddling with this...

Once again, a jon moment. I fix one thing, yet manage to f uck up another.

If all else fails, i'll take it to sts or something.

mini update: Got my Injen filter cleaning kit, and today, a bazooka bass tube (i had one before, a long time ago, but it broke, probably due to it being loose in my trunk and sliding around)

im probably going to have to invest in another ipod, as the scroll wheel on mine stopped working correctly. i can reset it fine, but when the ipod loads, i get NO respons from the wheel at all. Only the reset command works. i cant even get it into diagnostic mode. :(
