Auto ECU in a 5 speed will throw codes eventually and 9 out of 10 people get shitty idel's (Spelling wtf?) when doing this.. the fuel maps are diffrent... seeing as how the auto only has 4 gears....... Unless you are color blind how in the hell could you fuck this up?

do some one know if a 97' or 98' automatic ecu works on a 93' for eliminates the speed sensor and rev limiter?
OBDI vs OBDII ... no it wont.

Have you ever done it? I know I ran an auto ECU in my old 5 speed car and yet never had issues with fuel or, idle or throwing any codes.

Simply put, you're wrong. On an OBDII car I can see it potentially throwing a code.

Look just to clarify for everyone cutting the wrong wire. It's a yellow/w green stripe, and theres about 4 other yellow wires on that harness with various colored stripes so be very careful. If only the wires were numbered to make it easier....oh wait they are. Your are clipping the wire the resides on pin 32 of the ECU (search for a chart). I've been running this for like 6 months with no problems and seeing how the ECU for a ka24de 5 speed was the same for all s13 if you are having a problem its prolly the wire you cut is wrong. I have 3 friends also runnin the "snip" mod that I performed and all of em are running strong and with no problems. However if you want some tacky extra switch somewhere feel free to rice yourself out. Good right up though, just thought I would throw in the pin number for yall.

i have had 7 s13's 4 that i drove daily for months, 1 almost 2 years and all of them were 5 speeds running automatic ecu's with no codes or fuel problems, the only thing i never liked was the high idle when barely rolling with clutch engaged due to the ecu thinking it needed to keep the idle up until the automatic clutches completely disengaged, but wasnt a problem nor did it ever harm anything, also have done the snip mod on several 240's for friends and no one ever had a problem, yellow with green stripe as previously posted will do the trick, and i have never seen a na ka do 115 in 1/4

Cutting the wire on a single cam doesnt do shit! Don't do it!!!!! It will lower your speed limiter to around 60-65 MPH. Thats what happened to my first '90 when I tried it. If you need an auto KA24E ECU, Email me at MXKing500@aol.com and shoot me an offer.

thats the one thing I always loved about Nissans... There seamed to be a wire to clip to remove the limiter.... Did the very same thing in my Z31...

Good read and thanks for the info...
Skott

my buddy has a z31, and was wondering which wire it was???

so your single came limiter went down to 60-65 MPH? wow, does anyone know why. i was gonna do it this weekend to my car, but now not sure? and also, did the check engine light turn on???

Umm... iginition shaves a half second off of a 1/4 mile? LetŽ´s see if I can remember the equation...

HP= ((increase of Ž´sparkŽ´)*(increase of Ž´powerŽ´ of Ž´sparkŽ´)*(MSD Sticker HP) ) / (Non-Honda adjustment*)

*obviously not being a Honda is determental to the total HP gain that can be garnished from this Mod. A Honda would have gained atleast 1 full seconds on the 1/4

:p

Unless your car is a California car it doesn't have a check engine light.

Ran my s13 with the auto ECU and the manual tranny (5-speed swap) untill i got my 5 speed ECU. Idle'd diffrent... It wasn't horrible but still ran low, and stalled once but that was right after start up. Yes, they were both OBDI seem's as how you love to talk about that. There isn't that much diffrance in them but as everyone here should know the slightest change can mess alot of shit up.

Hey guys, I see many people posting about cutting a wire to take off your speed limiter. I have a GReddy Speed Limit Cut on mine and it let me go over 120mph in my '95 240sx. It cost me $120 for the whole thing. (GReddy SLC - $80: Labor - $40) This could probably exclude the whole wire cutting and ECU swap stuff.

Here's a link to the pic on my MySpace page. I don't feel like uploading the picture.
