So i am sittin at 18th street and Waco Drive (I live in Waco, TX) at a red light and i have a Dodge Deisel to my left and a Tohoe coming to a stop on my right. The light turns green so i put my 240 in first and start rolling through the intersection. Me and the Deisel were side by side and the Tohoe's front end was like at my passenger door. Next thing you know BAAAM!!!!!! Some older woman in like a Ford Ranger or something like that runs her red light and T-Bones me on the passenger side. When she hit me it knocked my car into the Deisel and the Tohoe that was on my right ran into the side of the Ford Ranger!!! This Stupid lady didnt even hit her brakes. she T-Boned me at 35 to 40mph. Luckily noone was badly injured.I hit my head on the rear view mirror and that was it. The Deisel and the Tohoe were still able to drive but of course my car and the lady that hit me were not drivable. Both cars towed away. From the looks of my car i am guessing that the lady's insurance company is going to say the damages to my car are more the the blue book value and most likely cut me a check. How much money do you guys think i will get??? Oh and one more thing, I talked to the lady's husband and he made a comment to me saying that his wife has a hard time seeing at night. Now maybe i am over reacting but can anyone say LAWSUIT!!!!!!!

Perfect example of why old people should have to pass a test determining whether or not they are capable of driving or not. And as for the money part. What year 240 is yours? Miles? What's the damage? Any aftermarket mods? All that adds up. But if the damage is bad enough to where it doesn't "appear" fixable, then they'll call it totalled cut a check, and call it a day.
it is a 1996 240sx se s14 blacktop sr20det with the t28, aftermarket intercooler, downpipe, exaust, tie rods, suspension, springs, BOV Rims and tires. I hope the compensate for all that chit!!!! I dont know all the damage for sure but i am going to the tow place to take pictures. the sr20 has about 84, 000 miles but the dash read 204,000. i paid 5,000 for the car so hopefully i will get my money back at least.

Ouch. Hopefully they will compensate you for all that. Cause I'm sure you had a lot of money in that car. But maybe the damage is fixable (hoping). I hope that everything works out for you. Good luck man.

They probably won't pay for your parts, so you'll end up with a check for about 4k and they'll call it a day. If I were you I'd buy the car back from the insurance and either part it out or buy another 240 and swap everything over.
I talked to the insurance people friday and the adjuster that is supposed to be looking at my car and handling my case was not in the office so i spoke with another person and she said that from the looks of everything that i should be covered in full and that the adjuster that is handling my case will call me monday ( which is today ) I will let you guys know whats up once i hear from her.

whats sucks mostly about this whole situation is i used to own a 2006 BOM GTO and i hydroplaned on the freeway and hit a gaurdrail at like 65mph back in january and i had insurance on it with progressive and they royaly fucked me over so i lost the goat now it july and i get my 240 totalled by some lady who has progressive and they are trying to fuck me again!!!!! to everyone out there i say fuck progressive and dont ever do business with them. Now the part everyone wants to know. What was the settlement?? They offerred me a huge whopping settlement in the amount of 3700 total!!!! Hey now i can go buy another 240...........yeah fucking right!!!!!!!!! i told them to fuck off and i have an attorny now so lets play bitches!!!! lets look at the big picture, i paid 5000 for my 240 that could have easily been sold for 8000 maybe 9. one of there policy holders decids to run a red light and total my car and they wont even offer to give my what i paid for the car. so what there saying is if you buy an older vehicle and someone decids to hit you your fucked cause the value has decreased and we dont care what you have done to the car. you should have bough a 2010 vehicle so you would get mor money back. makes no sense. i am not going to settle for an agreement that makes me lose $1300. fuckin outrageous. either give me what i bought it for or fix it. i wish you guys would have been there to here this woman. its to hard to type everything out. its easier said in person but you guys get the point. i hope.
