Starting Date July 2008 with Purchase of Nissan 240sx.
That is my 240sx 1990 "The Millennium Falken"
This is my 1999 Sr20Det Type X I got pre Swapped
This is her dropped out ready for the swap in her new home (my s13)
It is Month Three and I am waiting for a garage opening at the shop so I can drive her in, replace the exhaust gaskets all the way down, replace the exhaust manifold with a Megan Manifold, install the Walbro Fuel pump, get pin to bolt in the SR20 with it's Nismo Motor Mounts, lube up the Spec 2 clutch and set up the harness (pre-wireing is a bitch) anyone have any material that I can steal?
Got a lot to do, I am getting a full 3" straight pipe (if she is going to be registered in Georgia cause we DO NOT have emissions) including test pipe and Silencer (so the nieghborhood doesn't kick my ass), Drop in my intercooler, cut the front bumper up so I can fit it in the front and still look stock sleeper, replace the bald pirelli 205 tires and pads.
and she is done phase one.
1.) Engine Swap
2.) Add Bolt on Mod's to it
3.) Title it in Georgia (savannah) where we DO NOT HAVE EMISSIONS! and that rocks
4.) Tires + Brakes
What I have spent so far...
1.) 2800 for...:1bowdown
Sr20det Black Top 1999
Walbro Fuel Pump
Dynasty Dump Pipe
Ignitor Chip
Ecu
Spec 2 Clutch
Turbo Exhaust Adaptor
Air Filter + Air Intake Arm
2.) 800 + 200(Shipping)
1990 Nissan 240sx (pig nose)
Tien Coilovers
Sway Bars
KaE Tranny
3.) 140.00
Sr20Det Harness (upper, I NEED lower bad!)
Needs work!
4.) 160.00
FMIC racing Intercooler
because I don't need greddy, I have NO intention on going past 350hp AT ALL
What is left...
1.) AC unit hose line (custom Fabrication for LHD)
2.) Brake Cylinder Replacement or Rebuild
3.) Brakes + Tires
4.) Royal Purple Transmission/Rear Diff Fluid
5.) Exhaust Gaskets + Megan Manifold
6.) Exhaust N1 Series 3'' plus Test Pipe + silencer
A couple reasons why I chose the parts I have...
The Type X Sr20 1999+ HP specs are 30-45hp STOCK more then the Red Top's and the years before it.
Plus it came with a WONDERFUL package.
After all this is complete, and the car becomes a daily driver/ass kicking monster of JDM sleeper cars. Phase two will be in order...
Next step is phase two of the journey, which is paint and body work. Cut out the old rust and tig weld in the new parts. Plus cut out the top brake light and replace it and body mold it as just another part of the metal hatch. Less to worry about with rust then.
Phase Three is Replacing the suspension, Cambers, toe with a new performance system. Tien has a sale for 300 bucks you can get a full suspension kit on www.Srownersclub.com I hope they will keep that sale by the starting of this on comming year so I can snatch that off of them.
Phase Four is replacing the rims and increasing the wheel set on the front with 225 size rims and 265 on the rear, plus Z32 Brake master cylinder and brake kit, 20mm front pads and Wilwood Vented pads on the back.
A lot of work, but if you love driving as much as I do, it is well worth every penny you can put in her.
Not to mention the wonderful sale on new and used parts galor on the world wide web every day you can snatch up.
I found some Z32 brakes for 100 bucks 2 months ago on ebay. Brand new.
So for us poor guys, wait till the rich boys have to much shit that they don't want to deal with, and part out like no tomorrow. Take advantage, and buy cheap never used shit from the rich idiot like a good boy should.
