good lord this exedy clutch made a HUGE difference in the way the car's power feels. it feels so much snappier.
I've also got a 4-2-1 header on the way, in hopes to gain some low end torque too.
other than that the car feels alot better.

shigga bam! update time!!!

step 1: wicked tuning adjustable tension rods.
beefy and baller I must say.

Step 2: Cold air intake. Came as a short ram but I found a pipe to make an extension and voila, we have real cold air intake-age.

I almost hydrolocked my motor last night so I then made this guard for it.

Made out of the inner fender well material.
Works pretty darn good and it keeps me from pwning my motor with teh waterzzzz.

Also installed that exedy stage 2 clutch. (basically an on/off switch)

better than having it slip though.

That's about all for updates for now.

new wheels should be next.
MB battles, 17X9 with +15mm offset.

Honestly, I wouldn't even f around with a cold air intake, I had a friend hydrolock his engine with a CAI.

I doubt that you'll see any difference in power/acceleration with a short ram.

Everything else looks great though!

white on emerald blue just looks like teh sex though.

if this guard doesn't work out the way I designed it to i'll just put the filter back in the bay. but it's really helped out.
My friend hydrolocked his ka that way but we've engineered something to pretty much eliminate it. but things can still happen.

If my motor does get hydrolocked, it'll just give me a reason to go RB. I reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly want that motor haha.

that or just do some more fine tuning with this ka. the cams really need to be degreed right out of the box to get the optimal power, and i didn't do that. DOH!

I'm switching up the exhaust manifold to a 4-2-1 w/ better designed ports to hopefully improve the power a little bit more. maybe i'll be happier then.

^ Hells yeah man haha. Hopefully at the next event he will play the "Let's see how close I can get to hitting Price with my car" game when I'm up at that entrance again hahaha. And next time I'm pretty sure I'll have a fisheye to get some crazy shots.

I is sorry about the tease the other night. It was 2 in the morning and my computer blue screened 3 times trying to upload pictars.

motor update as well...

in June, i developed rod knock coming from the number 4 connecting rod. So i pulled teh motor out and tore it down before anything worse developed. Found out after looking at the bearing that the motor ran low on oil, probably at a drift event, and overheated the bearing. No biggie. I got the crank polished and the rod inspected and everything came out all hunky dory.

I did manage to score an extrusion ported intake manifold off my buddy's old high comp ka. swapped it over onto mine and then bead blasted the front covers and repainted them silver instead of gunmetal (which turned out to be one of the lamest colors in an engine bay, wayyyyyy to dark.)

I don't remember if i posted it or not but I also bought an ISIS radiator from enjuku and another 12'' electric fan.
Car definitely stays much cooler at the track now. Still got a little hot during hot lapping but never above 220*


Motor plans for the next few months - year are veryyyyy interesting....no hints as of now though :p
