Can anyone recommend an excellent company to get a car cover from? Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of a garage to keep my car in in the winter. So when snow comes, I'm going to put it on blocks, take the wheels and tires inside, stabalize the fuel and oil and put the best cover over it I can find. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

PS...any other "winterification" I should consider?

It has nothing to do with how rare it is. It has everything to do with the fact that it has never seen snow, ice, and salt...and it never will. I've spent enough money on it that it's not worth running during the winter. It would be a shitty winter car anyway. And yeah, that's what my sweet SW1 is for...Saturn wagon bitch!!! LOL

Just be careful with car covers. My buddy put one on his car for a few days and it ruined the paint. I'm guessing the moisture sat on the paint and it turned the paint a white haze in some spots.

I'd like to know what covers are preferable also..

Very good idea, the cover will definetely keep your car finish in good shape. Make sure to get one that is waterproof but breathes....that way there is no moisture affecting your paint. If you do a few "wax jobs" on your car before the cover goes on it will protect the paint. I only use the cheap ones from Auto Zone on my coupe that sits outside in the hot summers of AL. It kills the cover in months but the paint is protected. Check my sig for storage tips, i dont think you need to take the tires off, etc. for winterization. As long as you start your car every other week and let it run for a little bit you should be ok. Take the battery off and keep it inside where is warm when not in use.

Take care...

I found some decent ones from empire. This cover was a replacement cover for a custom cover that cost three times as much and started leaking water and collecting dust under the cover in less than a year. My Empire cover is 4 months old, has survived numerous strong thunderstorms and seering Texas sun, and so far is exceeding my expectations. I have 3 cars under cover, soon the other two will be covered by Empire.
