madmax, i was not suggesting that you need a tune. i was thinking that you can have a faulty ecu or incorrect mapping of your ecu (if there was a mod). I don't think you have a hardware problem here. do what thrasher is suggesting and check your voltage back to your ecu pin out. if everything checks out, then its your ecu.

*update*:gaah:

So I've been doing (countless) google searches over the last month or so. I stumbled across a post on another forum where it sounded as if though the car in question was mine...it however(obviously)was not. With the symptoms of this vehicle being so close to mine I decided to read ahead.

This particular posting finally had some resolve, and after a year of not being able to drive his car he was finally able to sit behind the wheel of his first sr20 swapped 240sx. His solution? He didn't have his main connector properly seated into his ecu, so by simply unplugging and reconnecting...he was done!

News of this sounded way too simple...so I decided "why not?" I had a spare 30 minutes yesterday and decided to try it, and try it I...was about too...I noticed a pin at the connector that seemed as if though it was missing. This prompted me to peel back the electrical tape a few inches so I could finaggle the connector around to see what pin it was...

:eek:mg:!!! I couldn't believe what I was seeing! The previous owner had literally cut every single wire...my guess? Because he didn't want to feed it through the firewall ?:mad2: But wait! It gets better! When he redid the connections he used butt connectors and electrical tape. Too bad the connectors were made for a heavier gauge wire! Those were the good ones! Further inspection revealed some more demons...He literally twisted the wires together and shrink wrapped them...Without solder!!<---------Amongst these connections were the maf signal wire and the knock sensor wires...Which were both disconnected.:lamende: My best guess is that the pulled away from each other when it was brought through the firewall and the shrink wrap just couldn't hack it!

So here we go! Radio Shack, and about 80 dollars later and we have ourselves a project ladies and gentlemen! I'm going to unwrap and de-loom and inspect each and every wire in its entirety and fix and replace them as such with solder, shrink wrap, and new loom and electrical tape. Upon completion I will reconnect to the engine bay and report back. To all those following this...WISH ME LUCK!!!:hope:

Ouch that sucks!!! Hate to tell u but u are better off gettin a new harness solution that is made for the 240 with SR20 that way u dont have the whole bunch of extra wire around.... but not sure on price... But Radio Shack and a wateproof heatshrink is best.

Done! Just waiting on a little improvement in the weather!!! It took 5 and 1/2 hours, 3 rolls of electrical tape, and about 75 bucks...but its done!! Man! What a PAIN!!! Every wire was inspected after de-loomed and un-taped, then repaired accordingly. Harness looks brand new!

I will update upon reinstallation into the engine bay and fire-up...once again...wish me luck!!
