dont do shit till you can get it tuned...its gonna explode or anything but proper tuning is key
Wow, I am glad everyone else beat me to this question...It probably won't explode because you would be lucky to get the car started, let alone, out of the driveway. A "blanket tune" like you are talking about, is not the best option in the world, but it should suffice to get you safely running. I am also pretty sure that most online Nissan shops, that cater to SRs, sell used and new Z32 MAFs and pigtails.

I am not sure what max power you can get, but my injectors never run over 40% duty cycle (SARD 550cc), according to my Informeter. I am pretty sure this is due the fuel supporting mods I have; SARD FPR, Z32 MAF and fuel filter, tuned ECU, and GTR fuel pump. The lower duty cycle tells me that I have whole lot more room to add more HP and more fuel, on these injectors.

yeah dude, it shouldnt pose any real problems for you, just make sure if you dont have a boost controller that you manage the psi you do use and keep it within the operating limits of the turbo, and if you havent installed a turbo timer be sure to let the car run for a few minute before shutting the car off to cool down the turbo after you have been driving awhile. basicly just be alittle gentle with her for a bit till shes running at her best.
dude do you have a clue what you're talking about?

If that thing runs at all without an ecu tune at least, I would be surprised to say the least.

IMO that engine is far from safe to run right now. If you don't listen then at the very least buy an A/F guage and wideband o2 so that you don't destroy your Picaso. You've worked long and hard on it this far no sence wrecking it after all the work you've done to it this far.

best suggestion I can give you is buy a $100 beater and run it till a) it dies or b) you get your 240 up and running PROPERLY.

I would start looking for a NIStune set up I would think you could still use the JWT mapping as a good base tune the way NIStune is set up I could be wrong but I don't really know for sure what or how the JWT is set up anybody want to chime in? (except for the retard I quoted).

ps sorry guys I just posted as soon as I saw that post I wanna punch that f...ing retard in the head... let that be a lesson if you don't know shit... then don't talk shit and just keep the flavor of that shit in your own mouth.

whoa... glad that's out of the system.

nope didn't miss that post, thats why I suggested the NIStune because he should be able to use the NIStune on top of the JWT and use the JWT tune as a good base tune (expensive base tune but still a base tune) I think but I'm not sure if that is possible or not, we would have to know if JWT uses a daughter board, chip or reflash, I think they reflash in which case he could use the JWT and the NIStune because NIStune wouldn't really see that the ecu has been tuned it just sees that there are values in boxes so to speek. Which brings us back to asking someone to chime in if they know how JWT does their tunning.

It sounds like he is running out of money so if he gets the NIStune he can remap as much as he wants as he gets new parts put in and run what he has at the moment and not have to get all his parts together at the same time. All it will cost him is dyno time and not reflashing and programing charges which can add up in an awful hurry. You know what I mean?

Your tech was correct, however, that you could >roughly< adapt for larger injectors without a MAF or tune by dropping the fuel pressure by the appropriate amount. There are a few areas where the A/F will be rough, but overall, that particular issue could be overcome. You obviously would need to set the boost pressure quite low to avoid pushing your MAF, stock ECU, etc. with a bigger turbo like that. Obviously it's a moot point with a reflash.

so im guessing after i get it running ill find a better tune.. the nistune part sounds good but i have to do more research on it to find out how it works ect.. this is my first boost car so im trying to gather all the info.. thanx for all the help.. on the bright sight i did get a aem wideband with sensor. as for now the car hasnt turned on yet but this weekend i will take it to the muffler shop here and get my intercooler piping & exhaust done... i have a big precision front mount but no pipping =(. by the way my tune used a daughter board if that makes a dif wih the nistune... i did get the gauge pod that goes in the center ac vents for the wideband and oil pressure. i plan to run my boost gauge behind the steering wheel. im crossing my fingers so hopefully it will be up and going sat- mon...

You can use a jwt tune as a basemap for nistune, but jwt usually scales the maps soooooo poorley that you basicially have to start from scratch anyways, or at least you should.

No offence to the op, but i dont think nistune is his best option unless he has a compitent tuner in his area with a dyno that can handle tuning his setup. With the questions the op is asking there is no way possible he should attempt any of his own tuning.

so now what then? im going to run with just my ecu for now.. since u dont think nistune is a good idea. what is your opinion on what i should get for better tuning and more power.. i realy want to sit on a comfortable 300-350 hp. cant i just get a apexi safc piggy back and call it a day?

No, safc's screw up your timing making it more likely that you blow up your engine. Timing is much more important than afrs.

Nistune is a great idea as long as its in the hands of someone with experiance.

My suggestion is to find a real person at a real shop that can tune your car and have them do it. The tune is the most important part of your car, i dont know why people want to cheap out on them with a safc.
