So i had my 240sx since last july and been planning on many different builds before jumping into nissans and my stock ka24de is a nice torqy car, even been tearing vtec's up. But her heart has 130k on it, her body has dings and paint chipped off it so i had to bite the bullet and save up to get her back into shape, and shes an automatic. So for my first part to her transformation i ordered a slave cylinder from autozone, $17, yaaay, so for me its no turning back! and two weeks later i ordered from www.enjukuracing.com , cool site, a exedy stage 1 clutch, walbro fuel pump...that pump is way smaller than i imagined!, a Z32 MAFS with adapter and a water pump and i will order my 94-98 blacktop from www.jdmtigerjapanese.com for under $2k seems like a deal, so next to get is a driveshaft from dss, FMIC, and harness spliced and belts and rear main seal, i want to have everything so i can install it all in one weekend on base here in VA, my wife will see the engine before me so i will be very jealous lol, and of course i will take pics. Ima put ISIS parts to the test but i have HKS gleaming in my eyes. Let me know your stories and swap ideas.

Um what? It sounds like you have 3 different projects going on at once, 5spd swap, motor swap, kouki front end swap. Did you order the exedy clutch for the sr or the ka? What are you going to do about ems? Just use an Safc for time being? What are your ultimate power goals for your car?

um i stated the swap as my only project..."blacktop" and i already have the front end conversion done hence the title kouki build, i just wanted to finally start and share my own build thread and document my progress, and i have a deal on a fc commander for my ems.

Grammar aside... I suppose its a build thread because he's already ordered some parts?

Good luck doing the entire setup in a weekend on base. Hopefully you either know what you're doing or have some help that does. And hopefully the motor is in good enough shape to just drop in. You know what they say about deals sounding too good to be true. From personal experience, it really sucks a big one when 'they' end up being right.

The best idea I have for you is to test shit out as you install it. Do the fuel pump and any other supporting mods AND make sure they work correctly BEFORE you find yourself swapping the motor. And if you don't do a leak-down test THE MOMENT you get that motor, I'm gonna drive down there and smack you.

i don't know if anyone has said this because i didn't read all the replies but tiger japanese apparently has some bad rep. there is something on one of the supra forums where a guy got screwed over by them. but if you do order from them make sure to ask about some sort of start-up type warranty that they don't really advertise. if anything i just posted doesn't make sense PM me and i'll try and find the link to the supra site.

oh yeah i do plan on scrubbing her, since my ka had an oil leak, like most ka's ive seen. the first thing i looked for was prior leaks from this engine, and its alot of gunk around the p/s unit. So the whole passenger front site of the sr has the gunk down to the oil pan!

i don't think i've read anything about nagano. i just found the thing on tiger because i was playing with the idea of a rb20 swap and the price at tiger was pretty good so i googled reviews of them to make sure they were a reputable company. but since the swap plans fell through i never bought the engine from anywhere so all the knowledge i have of any engine supplier is available through google.

edit: engine looks nice... dirty but that's fixable haha
