Hello, my name is Josh and my family is in a bind with what to do with my brother's car. My brother passed away from cancer at the age of 21 back in 2006. We live in N. Michigan but he was going to college in Ohio for automotive engineering. Before he was diagnosed with cancer he bought a 204sx and was mid through building it. I don't know everything that was done to the car since the technical stuff is far out of my league (I was only assisting him when he needed a second set of hands). What I do know is he did an engine swap, installed a new transmission, turbo, and intercooler. We also repainted the car. If he didn't buy everything needed for the car, I'm certain he bought most of it.
Currently the car is with an Uncle that works for Subaru to see if he could fix it. He still needs to find out more about the car to see how to get it started up and what to buy to do so. I thank him for doing so, but my concern is if this is the best thing to do. I know it would save us money having this kind of help, but I also want things to go smoothly with the car. That makes me think the best bet would be to bring it into a shop that has more experience with the car and how it was being built. The only problem is that I'm sure it would be a lot more expensive. Bringing into a shop probably wont be optional for now since money is short. I would like to know if anyone could estimate the cost of doing so would be though. I would also like to know if there are any suggestions members here can input on.

Thanks for hearing me out. Josh

Well at the end of the day what are your plans for the car? Are you trying to sell it? Or do you want to keep it and make it a reliable car to use as your daily driver?

And if possible can you post pics of the car? Under the hood, exterior, interior everything. We would more or less be able to tell you what is worth in the current 240 market, what engine you have, and how far done it is...

From those pictures, I can tell you it's a S13 SR20 motor.

Since the motor is already in (and I can see the CAS plugged in), I would assume the wiring is done. Look to see if the MAF (should be near the air filter) is plugged into the harness, as well as the ignitor chip (usually by the passenger side strut tower).

If the wiring is done and the motor is mounted in the car, then the hard part of the swap is finished.

With more pictures we can tell you a lot more.

sorry to hear about ur brother man.. damn man 21 is so young.... may he rest in peace and long live his 240! Bring it to life man! I will gladly help you out with any questions. Taking it t a shop, depneds on what hes got and what he doesnt. But i say nothing over 4 grand. MOST likely abot 2500 i would think most. ALL depends where you go. How far away is the car?

Well you can always daily drive a race car lol. Yep, its a s13 blacktop Sr20det. Looks pretty clean, and appears to have most of the wiring done like Napoleon said. The hard work is pretty much done... Engine is already in the car so if it has complete intercooler piping (which it looks like it does), complete exhaust, and if it has the ECU and all the wiring your pretty much good to go. Try to get some more pics if you can. You might be lucky and just need to get some tuning and some smaller random parts. Doesnt look like its too far from running status.
