88 bucks for head unit, 36 bucks for front and 36 for rear speakers. gotta get sub box, amp and wiring kit still.
 
I'm selling 2 12 inch kenwood subs (500 watt rms) w/ kenwood amp (1100 watt). Box Meets Rcommended cubic Inch requirement. Comes with all wiring needed (2 gage). I also have a sub control knob. EVERYTHING for 300.

redid the timing today set to 12 deg with plenty of adjustment both ways. starts everytime cold or hot. only prob is about 30 secs after start when cold it like to die till its warm. no biggy tho takes like 35secs after that for it hold its own idle again. AND the only other prob is while i am stopping from a good speed out of gear it likes to die to.

has great power! went to an abandoned road that all the locals go to see what they could do in a marked quartermile. i did 86 mph i think i was around 15 sec or high 14. time to work on that... on the way back i had a shelby cobra follow me clear back to town it was awesome!!!

im going to go through my rocker arms tomorrow as when the engine is hot it really likes to make some noise. gots a spare set!
 
iv had the same problem with it dieing at higher speeds...it doesnt happen all the time...actually once every blue moon, but it does do that. I then get a check engine light...check it and it says Crank Angle Sensor.

on the way home from work tonight i decide to do a second gear cruse to red line pull to see where it felt like my power-band dropped off. And to my surprise it felt like i had 85% power at 6000 and 80% at 6500! it dropped in power of course and noticeably too but it does not fall flat on its face how like all ka's do.

if you guys want to know how i got it to do this all that has been done is: 3in intake with 3in inlet cone filter, obx 421 style header that has a 2.5in collector, hollowed cat, dual n1 apexi knockoff, 93 octane, and 0 emission equipment, including no swirl valves.

next on list is do get my suspension squared away for awhile. going to get some gsp tension rods, complete lca's, inner and outer tie rods with bellows, then some nice strut bars which i might be able to get next payday! lots of good updates promised! oh and i am getting prothane steering rack bushings too!

when and bought new tires today. could only afford two. i got the fuzion touring tires they have a treadware of 400 with t-t of A-A. also got the two other older tire balanced and put on the rear. then i adjusted the headlight pattern, now i dont blind oncoming traffic! also retimed it to 15 deg. instead of 12, and noticed it picked up some mpg and runs smoother now too!

next pay check i need to get tension rods and a catalytic converter.

as i got off work and was heading home my rocker arms were bangin hard so i tried to bleed them out on a real techincal uphill road i was actually pulling some gee's coming around those corners and was getting to the point where the tires just start to lose traction then came the shuddering.... i thought "shit there goes my rear tires" because they continued to shudder and vibrate on a straight stretch so i stopped and checked them out and to my surprise they looked great.

on the other hand my rocker arms sounded like they had better days. real nasty bang noises at a preticular rpm.

and through all this my fucking ipod broke in the middle of the run. i think from all the vibrations from the chassis messed it up, it wont even reset now.

man i drove so hard i broke shit lol

GOOD NEWS!!! fixed ipod. took valve cover off to find that one of my cam cap bolts backed itself all the way out and the shim was not even holding the rocker where it is supposed to be. tried tightening it but it is completely stripped... took the washer off the bolt and got it to thread down 90% of the way and wont tighten anymore but now is tight and no more banging noises. gunna have to get a tap set and a heli-coil so it can be right! also took a vid after i fixed it. topped it out on the freeway! 115mph from 65 took like 15 seconds. argh so awesome! and thats only a stock sohc with i-h-e! cant wait till i turbo it!

update! i got my rockers fixed! tapped out the bolt hole and put a helicoil in and it tightens down now!

plus ordered me some gsp tension rods and dme strut bars!

having a weird problem with the rockers still although its not nearly as bad as before... sounds like a bad lifter.... anyone know a easy way to take the lifter from the rocker? i know how to do it but i need to know if there is a easy way!

sad news.... motor is now R.I.P.

was driving to brookings and halfway there it took a huge shit. however it did not throw a rod it just sounds like it will it you rev it any higher, has zero power, and when you turn it off it stops turning instantly. plus it does not want to start at all you have to give it gas. first i thought it was the rocker arms but the knock is coming from the bottom too. i have no idea what im going to do.... i may just do a swap like i had originally planned and with my new job is very possible, but i have to at least pass the sniffer test at the smog station. i wonder if an rb25 will pass a sniffer test...

this marks the death of the second ka24e, but it shall not be in vain for an even better engine shall take it's place and bring the dawn of a new car!
 
A sr should pass with a cat and stock injectors no problem. Or you could always pay some guy 150-200 and have him slap some minty fresh stickers on it

The inline 6 motors are pretty goddamn heavy and I doubt you wanna go ls1. Dooooo itttttt

as of now i have decided to just rebuild it with all top notch parts and turbo it later. i dont want to have my car down any longer then it needs to. i will evenually do swap in the future

done some research and found that rockauto has the cheepest part selection for rebuild shit, so i have decided to get most of my stuff there when time comes. as for the larger parts, cyl head, pistons, and probably bearings are going to be ordered from local places that i can trust.

that being said i have to wait till i get a shed build so i can tear her apart to do the rebuild, while im waiting ill be saving up hardcore cash. litterally everything is going to be brand new in the engine conpartment when im done!
