I picked up some Kazama Toe rods to replace my bent Yamato Garage one from the accident. Tried to bolt them up, only to find they were S14 not S13. The heim joint on the end was to large to fit in the subframe ear so I sourced out some Battle Versions for a S13.

Who wants em? The rubber boots over the heim joint really keep it clean.

Mounted up my knuckles and hubs and tried to install my new S14 inner tie rods. After realizing the SPL outer would not thread on I was forced to call SPL. They convinced me it was the wrong tie rod and sure enough our part company at work boxed Toyota RAV4 tie rods in S14 boxes. :fonix: After a quick swap I was good to go.

While I had the brakes off I decided to put together my Z32 fronts. I stripped them down and purchased a rebuild kit from Nissan with new seals. Next they were off to the coater.

For $60 they did a great job. Could've paid a little more attention to the lettering, but for the price I couldn't beat it. I liked the place so much I decided to have them do my sway bar. I got the hot deal on a SIKKY front sway bar and end link kit. Only catch was the bar wasn't coated green yet, so I took things into my own hands.

I've got slotted 4-lug Z32 rotors and agency conversion brake line kit sitting at work waiting for installation as well. Should have everything ready to go before Hyperfest.

In other news, our drift team got our tire order from Falken. Who loves Azenis?

Image

And we completed the 7.3L LSX rebuild in the Z33. Anybody know about steam vents?

Image

And I bought my cat a leash and tried to walk him. Failure when I woke up in the middle of the night to him strangling himself with the collar.

Party on Garth!

Lol, Sikky cat on a leash FTW.

And you'd better put some green lettering on that sway so people know what's up! Gotta represent work and all :p

You should come by sometime and we'll slap this new turbo on when it gets here :D

Looking good man.

I'm trying to decide between green lettering and black. I think the green would just hurt to look at so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with that. I haven't been done your way in a while so I am due for a trip. Do you have the turbo already? When do you get the pieces back from coating?

I'm supposed to pick up the coating today, turbo supposedly shipped from Tomei yesterday so...hopefully soon. New exhaust studs get here tomorrow from Enjuku. Still need to pull the rear apart and re-lube everything to eliminate some noise, and I'll have to hook up the new Blitz SBC-iD I just snagged on Zilvia when it gets here.

Blue lettering might work, kinda like Lee Alexander has. I keep debating a Sikky rear sway. No point in front, already 27mm from Nissan.

I got my SIKKY endlinks for the sway bar today and installed everything. It was hard as hell to figure out which way was up, but after mocking it up a few times I had a good understanding of how it was routed.

Such fine detail and great craftsmanship

I also realized that after the most recent event with the clutch fan gone my 2-3 year old belt was torn to pieces. Luckily I caught this before anything worse happened.

For those S13 SR guys that need belts replacements, Here are the Gates Part Numbers

More updates and pictures tomorrow of installation.

NICE! Will those work with OEM bars? The 27 front isn't worth replacing the bar with Sikky, but endlinks would be nice.

So I decided to rebuild my rear coilovers because the driver side was leaking and blown. I sourced out dampers from the same guy who sent me front replacements for a great price. After starting to tear them down I realized the passenger side (accident corner) damper was seized to the thread bracket and eye hole. I tried soaking it over night with liquid wrench and heating it up but did not prevail. Considering Kei Office is not made any more I was almost 99% sure I was fucked. Luckily my source that supplied the inserts could custom make me new brackets to S13 spec. After about a month of waiting I was sent out new bottom mounts for an even better price. I loved the way the fronts felt with the new dampers so I'm really pumped to test the rears out. He will custom valve them to what ever spec I want and he is damn good. If anybody needs Kei Office rebuild parts let me know.

I had to modify a few pieces from the assembly to make it work, but after a few hours of messing with it they went back together smoothly. The bushing was a little too tall and needed to be cut down, the washers that go on top and bottom of the bushings had to be drilled out for a the larger shaft, and the new M12x1.25 nuts were needed for the top. Overall I pretty much just upgraded to larger hardware for a more durable setup (and new bushings too :)). Check out the Formula D Pro Am Streetwise trophy (made of used parts) in the background. My boss placed second in Palm Beach. :-D

Here is a comparison of the old to new sleeves. They are about the same height, but I had the inserts made smaller so I can go lower in the back and still run the appropriate preload I want. I'm really looking forward to thrash these things at the track and play around with the settings.

Image

Needless to say we were both happy.

So I spent the night yesterday getting everything back together after the months of down time. I started by installing the rear coilovers and adjusting the arms into spec. I've still got some messing around to get it drivable but atleast she sits on the ground now. Next I moved to the front and set the sway bar up with the proper setting and adjusted my tension rods for the new S14 FLCA, S14 inners, and knuckles. Pretty nasty angle.

Image

Next I installed my Agency SS Z32 conversion front brake lines I got from Enjuku. I also got a hella deal on 88rotors redrilled for 4-lug with Stoptech Z32 Pads. Four lug ballin son.

Image

And BAM!

Image

Got my tire situation good for Hyperfest DN. I doubt I'll use all these, but its nice to have spares. :)

Had to add some stickers.

And finally a civic victory lap. This is why I drive a $200 91' Civic.

I finally got everything back together yesterday and the corner that was hit still had positive camber. I was convinced I had bent my subframe (or even worse my frame) so I went home pissed as hell. I went to work and commuted ideas with my friends trying to find a way to figure out what is bent. After talking to my boss about his many wrecks he informed me that the spindle/knuckle could bend and it would be almost impossible to tell visually. I had a spare rear knuckle laying around so I decided to swap my hub over and try this before sourcing a new subframe. After about a half hour of removal and installation I laid the car back on the ground and thankfully it was fixed. It might not be perfect, but hell I can manage with this.

I can't believe I hit hard enough to bend this cast piece.

Now an alignment and I'm good to go.

Feel so good to have her back on all fours and in running condition.

Oh and my buddy had a little accident. P.A.T.T.

No recent updates as the car has sat since Hyperfest. I was having a few issues that I wanted to address with the fan switch. I wired up the Altima fans with two relays (one for each fan) both controlled by thermostatic switch with an internal relay of its own. The fans would both kick on high speed at like ~190 degrees. For some odd reason during the drive home it started to overheat. After seeing 200 (sensor in upper rad hose) I pulled over and after messing the temperature adjust screw they came on. I drove home and it cycled fine at a few degrees colder. After parking the car the fan cut in and out with car completely off. The relay is wired to +12V so the fans can cool the engine (if needed) with the car off. Anyway, it jumping off and on like that made me believe it was an issue with the thermostatic switch. I took it to Pep Boys and got the $20 unit swapped out. After plugging it back in the issue has not come back.

I'm still in dire need of an alignment so I will see if I can get something squared away before Drift Nirvana this Sunday.

Is anyone coming to Summit Point, WV for Drift Nirvana on AUG 5th?

My average temp on the T28 with clutch fan/shroud was 180 for oil/water temp. That's the SR's happy zone :p I'm around 190-200 now :p

Lemmie know if you need help with it one of these days, and if you're coming sat! :D Probably coming up friday for some good ol' Motul

Long time no updates.

So I pretty much completely took the car off the road and only use it for track events. There is another event coming up this Saturday that I will be attending. I installed my seats and got a fresh alignment over the weekend.

I decided to try a little less toe out in the front this go around. The rear is pretty much spot on, but I decreased the caster and toe out a little bit in the front. All I have left to do is install the harnesses and bar.
