i am going to do a small tube'd front end as well. but i still want the tubs so that i dont fling shit at my motor when at full lock.
I may eventually do tubs, but for now the open wheel will work. I was worried about losing some of the structure/durability from cutting the sheet metal out, but it honestly didn't change much. Obviously I would like to run a tube frame to the core support, but it is still pretty sturdy as is.

I gave up on drifting and building. I'm strictly drinking only now. Here are some pictures from Hyperfest 2013.

One of the head fabricator's cars fell off the trailer on the way to the track. We are unsure of how it happened, but the car drifted back off the trailer onto the pavement and start driving behind the trailer with nothing connected. The car drove straight until hitting a traffic cone and stopping it. Considering the whole accident happened at ~60mph, the car ended up pretty safe.

Here is the motor from the FD

Now it actually looks like a drift car!

More love for Rapper

MR. Boostin pulling up to the scene

All in all, this picture sums up the weekend. James stayed in, hit Austin, lost a castle nut on the custom (tubular) LCA. New castle nut, wins 2nd place.

I also just got these! Back to grinding!

Well guys. Maybe I can entertain you with my daily for a little. Tonight I parked it under a tree and got real nice with my new iPhone 5. I'm about to start a facebook page and consider myself a photographer :-D

Pretty sexy if you ask me for a 91'... Gotta love Toyota

And for the sake of the thread, I purchased new hard lines to re route my brake lines (location of ChaseBay's braided kit). I'm also about to buy some goodies from Casey. Will explain later. :)

More updates / pictures of my daily and friendly help story. My buddy asked me if I wanted to drive to West Virginia and help him purchase a new Q45 to replace his recently totaled car that insurance paid out an awesome amount for. I agreed and off we went in his rental to WV. We arrive at 10:30pm in some hick ass town off paved road like 15 miles. Moonshine was brewing, if you know what I mean. Anyway, we pull up to this home with stuff outside and a decent looking Q45. After some going back and forth for a while, we figured out a method to open the gas cap without electronics, and the car was purchased. On we went back to civilization....

BTW.. he decided to put his old Q45 tags on the vehicle that hadn't driven for 5 years and try to drive it home. We arrive at the gas station at midnight with a dead Q45 (full of 93 octane "to burn the bad gas out"), open gas cap and no jumper cables. I had asked the red necks if we could borrow anything because my buddy was not prepared and I received some "cabling from a job site". His friend has used it before, but after further examination at the gas station, it was copper wire bundled in a plastic sleeve with 4 different insulated wires in the center. This was not going to work so we go some nerd with this girl friend in a new 350z to help. He could barely operate a clutch so his helping hand rock star attitude was quickly destroyed. Plus his girl friend was checking me out... or checking me, checking her out. And in no way am I bashing any of the people in this story. The west virginians were very helpful and the "hicks" that sold the car were more than happy to help us get it out of their yard. They didn't have flash lights, but you need a plasma torch he had it. Anyway, we got the car jumped and start driving..... in WV

About three miles down the road his electronic start to die and conveniently a police officer see the headlight failure and pulls him over. I pull into the parking lot as well and explain that his alternator is not charging his battery and the car keeps dying. I said my friend is already on the phone with a tow company and we are fine. Super Trooper says he has a quick connect to AAA (which my friend has) that can be there in 15 minutes. I go along with the conversation so the cop never decided to ask us for license or registration or anything that would make it look like we stole a car from a red neck village in WV. Cop leaves we get the car towed 100 miles for free into his driveway and start stripping parts over from all to new before insurance take the car. (z32 brakes and most likely a new alternator considering the charging system on the new car does not work).

Anyway after about 4 am when I get home for all these shananigans I decide to drive to the ocean. Got some cool pictures with my iPhone 5 and bone stock LS400 at the sunrise. Makes me want to purchase a quality camera and some lenses, but too much invested in other things. You can't drive racecars if you take pictures of racecars.

All in all it was a pretty hilarious sequence of events, but I got to help my friend out and he is making the best of an accident that was not his fault. Gotta love insurance!
