KA Stroker Kit

They have a stroker kit for your KA24E motor (what they have listed, not sure if it will work for the DE motor, but since its the botom-end gettin new internals I would imagine so). Not sure what the motors displacement will be after this kit is installed. Here's what you get:
Forged Crank
Custom Forged Pistons
(any compression & bore)
Forged Steel Pins
(ultra-lites available)
Piston Pin Locks
Plasma Moly Racing Rings
Forged 4340 Steel or Billet Rods
TOGA Performance M&R bearings
Make that KA a torque MONSTER!

Did I miss something here? Destroke it? I am not understanding. I would think stroking the KA24, forging it and applying a nice size turbo would spank the shit out of the SR20. Or I am still thinking in the world of my LS1 Trans Am about stroking the engine. Please explain.

exactly, and why would you want to destroke it when if you stroke it you get stronger pistons at any compression? I think chickenhawk is on to something.

if u already didnt know..a stock 7psi KA-T can already spank a stock SR at stock boost!

KA-Ts can run mid 13s at 7psi..its been proven..look at Evil s14 on zilvia.net

stock SRs run 14s high 13s

by destroking it..you can have smoother revs and can possible rev higher.

remember building an engine ISNT ALWAYS about power

You really can't say that, it matters what setup you have on them. There are alot of stock SR's that are running mid-low 13's. I know of one that ran a 12.8 by just boosting it and getting some good suspension and tires (drag radials). They are both good motors, but if I had to choose between the two then I would go with the SR. Fully build either motor and then they will probably achieve the same power and reliability. It's all prefrance.

I am understanding the SR comes with forged internals since it is a factory turbo. Does the KA come with any forged internals? If so, that will help me make my mind. I can't decide to build my KA or buy an SR and build it. I am not confused, just undecided. I know the engines both in factory stock are great with the SR being faster of the two. But with some parts and turbo I think for the same dollar amount, the KA would produce more ponies. Any comments welcome. I am interested in the KA Stroker kit, please more info.....

Why did it get moved to the S13 section? The S14's have the KA motor, too.

SRs and KAs have the same amount of forged internals...crank and rods. Pistons are cast in both cases.

And stroking a KA (100mm stroke) would be awesome...bump the displacement up to about 2.55L with a slight bore increase and you'd have that long stroke to really spool up a big turbo. If you destroke it...you loose displacement. To make up for that power loss with revs, you'll need to be a lot more careful with head work, cams, etc.

ohh, but there is! It's called forced induction. I hate that saying and I totally disagree. Yes it is nice to have the displacement, but you do not need it. That is a statement made from hick ass domestics that think that imports can't make any power. Well they are wrong and so is everyone else that believes that. I have seen 1.8 honda get into the 10's, and 2.0's in the 9's. There are so much things that play a roll in power and times.
