hmm
i can think of two places where oil can come in: valve stem seals and rings.
shaking makes me think that the rings have said goodbye.

definately worn out piston rings and valve seals. there prolly isnt any cheap and simple method to fix this problem besides for taking it to the mechanics and have them take the engine apart and replacing the rings and valve seals.

HOW the hell is that cheaper than getting a used engine and replacing it yourself

no offense meant for luketownsend but if he knew how to replace an engine himself, im pretty sure he would have known why the spark plugs was fouled with oil and what it meant, basic stuff they teach in my auto class. this is the reason why i said he should take his car to a mechanic. didnt want to force him into something he may not have had too much experience with and end up screwing up his car and his entire weekend afternoon.

Same here, but you can only do that if you have a beater vehicle you can drive while it's down.
haha you dont HAVE to have a beater while its down... you just can't leave the shop like me!

Engine rebuild on a Ka will run you about $700. You can get a rebuilt/low miles motor for about the same. Installation will run you another $700 or so depending on your mechanic. (I do a lot of work with my mechanic so my charge is sometimes lower than average)

Have a reputable shop do a leakdown test for you first so you know what is leaking. Rattling at idle may be just bad motor mounts. Motor mounts are $80-120 a piece. Figure an hour of labor for installation. BTW most Nissan dealerships can order Nismo mounts and they are about the same price as OEM, wierd but true.

Hopefully all you need is a head rebuild. That will be cheaper. Most of the charge will be for labor but it can be done in a day or two.
