Fellas, picked up my first 240, an s13 hatch se, 5 speed, all original 116,000 miles, for 3700 bucks. New to working on cars but have done tons of research and lurking on the internet over the past few years.

Who's located in the savannah, Hinesville area?? I need some friends :(

Hello everyone welcome to the forum. Congrats on finding some nice stock cars.
Please read the other sticky threads, download the factory service manual for your year and get yourselves some nice tools and get to work.

Please refrain from
-stripping the interior unnecessarily
-any hipster trendy shit
-dumb stickers
-cut springs
-primer paint jobs
-avoid buying knockoff seats
-Chaser aero
-loud exhaust on stock ka
-Megan racing
-Isis
-Godspeed
-don't buy any body kits if you cannot afford paint

Please do
-much needed maintenance
There is a thread on this somewhere with more detail, but oil change, plugs, air filter, and distributor cap, transmission oil change, and differential oil change
possibly new tires and new brakes for your car
-learn to weld, you could probably weld better than the 5 year old chinese kids from all the knockoff companies
-Learn to do proper bodywork if you want to repaint it, or understand the costs of a proper paint job
-Learn to solder ( super easy)
-Learn some proper budgeting and save up for quality parts versus buying shitty parts NOW
-take a lot at what the average costs are of a rebuild. Make an excel sheet and start listing part by part what the costs are
-read some build threads here and on zilvia. It's a good source if you want to creep on but I generally dont suggest to interact with them since everyone loves to argue with each other

Although I joined a while ago, I don't think I ever did an intro.

1995 240sx here. My dad bought it new. Never winter driven and it just rolled over 95,000 kilometres. Despite the low mileage, I'm thinking I'll drop in a DET.

I swapped a DET into my NX2000 back in 2003; it's been running great ever since. Love em.

Hi, I'm John. I'm 20 years old, living in the DFW area. I've been a long time car enthusiast and a recent motorcycle enthusiast but I've never owned something truly special, car wise, until now. I traded my pride and joy, a 1998 TL1000R to one of my good friend's brother, for a 1993 S13 hatch with an RB20DET swap and a turbo off an early 2000's 7.3L Powerstroke. It's been built well as far as I can tell, but it is a project car, and there are things I would like to change about it to suit my own personal tastes. Enough words, let's get to the important part:

Hi, I'm new to the 240sx
I want one since I had my licence and this summer I want to buy one.
Already bought the engine a KA24DE forged and now I'm looking for a rolling shell (I'm from quebec)

I did drive one and loved it it was 240sx S13 89 and now i want to own one!!

Hi, thanks for accepting my application to the 240SX forum here. My name is Billy. I'm looking to buy a 240SX as a hobby car with dreams of stuffing a CA CARB legal LS3 in it. For now, I just want to browse and get some info. Maybe I'll buy a car and drive it around for a while before stuffing it like a turkey and making it gobble up anything that tries to pass it.

Hi my name is Christian and i just finally bought an S14 after wanting one for so long and i love it ? now the car has a full s15 6 speed swap in at with ac/pw evrything is stock I would love to here the experts opinion on the swap and things i should look out for because i have notice people are not the biggest fan of the 6 speed tranny and thats ok i can always get a 5 speed if something goes wrong, but what should i be concern about engine wise besides parts been lil harder to find? Thanks evryone in advance

hello, im a noob to 240sx, but not cars. I just got a beater maybe ill make it nicer i do not know yet.

heres a picture.

few issues are, stupid zip ties holding the bumper on, the stupid hood washers, gotta fix the power steering hose, and gotta get a new MAF, and i am going to do a way better spray can paint job to the car, oh gotta fix the hatch latch, gotta buy cheap used tires and have them ballanced, i hate how it has two different sets of wheels, i need to weld the diff hahah, oh and the interior has all been stripped for some reason unknown to me but i do have all or most of the panels to put back on and i gotta fix the window cause it does not like to stay up. :/

bought this car from some kid in Kentucky and its an 89 240sx with a dohc ka24de swap.

hey everyone! my name is johnny I'm from new york. this is my first time on the 240 forums and I'm absolutely thrilled:serious: to say that this will be my 4TH!! s chassis build/project (one being a legit 1998 silvia s14 imported to the states). just picked up a 95 240sx from some kid who abused it so I'm in the middle of tending to its wounds before the heart transplant (RB25) takes place. looking forward to learning from you guys and also looking forward to helping out as much as i can being that this isn't my first rodeo lol
