Hello all my 240sx lovers! I have a 1991 240sx with a ka24de in it! However I picked up this vehicle from someone else and now its my project, **the car has been sitting for about a year**, "says" it has half a tank of fuel. Full tune up has been done. I completely re-wired the engine harness because that was bad, put new battery terminals and checked all the grounds. My voltage is fine but the car WILL NOT turnover, it slow turns but does not catch and turnover completely. I've tried jumper cables over to another car, I looked at the spark plugs and they are firing, coolant is good. I tried Push starting the vehicle as well and got nothing. Just looking for some suggestions can't seem to find exactly what is causing this issue. There is no Mass Airflow sensor attached to the car, but I thought it should still turnover without a mass airflow sensor... just run rich and incorrectly without it.??:eeksurprise: Any help would be awesome! Thanks guys!

I've had that happen also. It was so dead it was pulling the charge from the cables while I tried to crank it lol.
Try connecting the positive to the battery but the negative to the Intake manifold.

Took a fully charged battery and got the same thing, also noticed that near the fans, the fan wiring harness has a small black wire that is attached to nothing... Is that small black wire a ground and it needs to be grounded to the body?

I managed to find a ground wire that wasn't connected... so I grounded that out. Now the engine turns faster it seems, but it's not going all the way :( when I re-wired the engine I used a harness for either manual, or automatic. There are a few extra plugs laying around in my engine bay that don't connect to anything... I took a few pictures to upload but it won't let me post them.

Perform a voltage drop test from the cable going from the battery positive to the starter hot and see what that tells your. Could have a cable that can't handle the load. Also just because the battery is freshly charged doesn't mean it is "good". Have the battery tested to be sure (free at auto stores/battery shops), unless its a battery you know came from a good cranking vehicle.

I took that battery and got it checked at a local store and it has full charge, hooked up some cables up to another car just for giggles, and it seems to still turn quickly but its not enough for it to catch... I tested a few of the wires and they are all reading 12v like they are supposed too, I guess i Just need to tap into every wire and test to make sure its actually a power, and make sure the others are actually grounds. Im picking up someone elses project they gave up on apparently : /

Google how to perform a voltage drop and check your cables that way. Its different then measuring how many volts you have at point x. It checks to see if the cable is able to handle the load, not the volts. It sounds now like you have a crank no start condition? Unless I am misunderstanding your last post.
