Hose came fedex this morning.

GKTech fan will be here this afternoon via mailman.

Taking the wife and kids out for supper, then to the annual racecar show in the mall. Hopefully get out in the garage afterward to start disassembly. Plan is drive it Saturday as long as I have no more issues.

Pulled the intake, fan shroud, and fan out. That's the usual stuff no one cares about.

Drained the coolant, pulled the lower hose off the thermostat housing.

Pulled the thermostat housing off and see this...

That is a fricken mess!

Pulled the water pump... the inside looks fine, but the weep hole has definitely been leaking, and the bearings are making some noise. No shaft play though.

The inside of the motor looks pretty clean, so that's good.

This is where I quit last night. It was pretty late and I actually wanted to sleep before work today. I'll get going again this afternoon.

Between that front main and the water pump, the front of the motor is nasty as hell. I'll probably spend some time trying to scrape some crap off it.

If any of you suckers ever have to change this coolant bypass hose.... DON'T do it the way I just did. Take the lower intake off. It'll be much easier. I just didn't want to do it.

Picture of the new hose on the bottom. I broke this clamp, so I had to go buy new ones and fish it down from the top of the hose.

This is the hole I was jamming my manly ham hands into. If you have small hands, this might work better for you. The hose is behind the thermostat housing. I had to take the hose and nipple off the side of the thermostat housing and tuck it over to get my hand back there.

For proof....

It was all finger strength pulling that bastard on there. No room to twist or wiggle your hand. You can see the imprints on the right side of my wrist where the bolts for the tps were digging in.

Pressure Washer and Degreaser do wonders lol.
No pressure washer unfortunately. Thought about taking a can of degreaser up to the local car wash and then doing it. They might get a little upset though. Lol

At least you are getting work done. I dont have the funds right now to start work
I've been working on this a long time. I've sank countless amounts of money in it, and it's not even special! Get ready to feel broke all the time.

It's a never ending cycle. Sometimes I wish I would have chosen a much cheaper hobby.. but then when I think about the fun I can have in this one and it makes it all better
