Kind of hard to sense sarcasm in text... you get just as many idiots saying everything in the F&F is lame as you do people who took everything in the F&F to heart.

But everything in F&F is lame...I don't think there was a single technically correct thing in the movie...entertaining, yes, but lame. And I added a smilie to my first post...can ya sense the sarcasm now?

We need one holding a sign that says "Sarcasm" or some shit.

Negreac: If that F&F eclipse did run a 14.1....he must've been using his NAAAAAWWWWWSSSSSSSS, i didn't go on that site but that's the only reason i could think of as to how he could pull off a 14.1 with his N/A. And about the skyline r34, i've seen the list of mods it has... and no doubt that is one hell of a car, but i'm saying it's been made to wear a stupid clown suit and having stupid nitrous bottles stuck in it's ass. Very sad IMO...

Dr DDDDDubble, let me rephrase.........

Nitrous is the EASIEST way to gain a big chunk of HP on an N/A.... yes an N/A might be able to be BUILT to produce up to 300hp (still kinda doubt that though).... but to do that you need to do way too much work and spend way too much money IMO. By the time you've hit that hp you could have spent all that money into an sr w/ upgraded turbo making 450+hp...and probably with less money and hassle.

NOS

Stick with the Blue Bottle. The Direct injection is how NOS was designed to be used, and it gives the highest out-put. A Fogger system in the Intake pipe is just Dumb. Unless you plan on building your bottom end, I would stick to the Basics and Build a more powerful Engine and Turbo set-up, NO NOS! NOS would be a last resort.
Here is some Alternatives:
550cc Injectors
T2725 Turbo/ or a big boy T3037
Skyline Fuel pump
TODA Cams, Valves, and Springs w/ retainers.
Blitz SSBOV (sounds so evil)
HKS wastegate
JIC Downpipe
INGS+Test pipe
HKS Metal Flow Intake
Defi Gauges and Sensors

These alone are alot beter options than having to re-build your Botom-End. TODA has a 2.2 Kit for the SR20 for around $4900.
NOS is not worth it.
FnF1 is the result of stupid tuners, RICE RACERS.
FnF2 expect the same, APC sticker on a Skyline.... what do they make for it.... I hope its not Euro Lights
:sadface
Peace

Bah, you completely changed what you said. Yes, NA tuning is VERY expensive and in my opinion, not worth it when compared to the costs of a blown (turbo, sc) engine.

Why do none of you fuckers get my name right?!?! :assassin

Nah, some of the stuff in the F&F was technically correct just no one notices it cause they'd rather pick out whats wrong, but what do you expect Universal is in it to make money, they don't care if they are accuratley protraying the import scene or not, the F&F was never meant to be a documentry. That's the same reason why they gave the Blackbird a face lift and a sparkly paint job. It gets attention which helps to promote their movie, and you better believe they are going to stick as many stickers on that car as possible, the more body covered in stickers the more advertising $ for universal, I don't blame them.

Not meaning this in an offensive way or anything, but could you please point out the "technically correct" things in the movie? Cuz i can't think of any. =P

The "import scene" is gayer than ever nowdays. Like on import tuner there is a skyline gtr... but they choose to talk about a riced out focus parked next to it instead. And when they interview the people at the car shows, all of them say "i really like the lights and the sound systems".... really quite pathetic. F&F didn't have to make a documentary.... they created a whole new breed of "automotive enthusiasts"....aka ricers, if they were to do a real-life documentary on street racing i think it would be pretty close to the movie.

ok well I'm not trying to mess up your fast and the furious bashing time but lets get back to nitrous.....some one said that nitrous doesn't effect the turbo......well they were wrong......the n-tercooler or how ever its spelled isn't as safe and fun as you would hope. when a tuner in my town tested it the turbo jumped from 12psi to 20psi when they shoot the n20 through the frount mount and turbo magazine had similiar results. also if you have a turbo i agree with many others and would say upgrade the turbo and the internals only get nitrous when you need it to spool your turbo because is so big.:D

I was the one that said nitrous doesn't affect the turbo.... reason i say that is because the way a turbo works is..... turbo sucks in air from the intake, goes into the intercooler, chills the air (that's what an intercooler is for), up into the intake manifold, and into the engine, so how would this affect the turbo?

I could be wrong, cuz i'm not exactly into the nitrous thing....

could be that the rush of cold n20/co2 creates a vaccum in the intercooler and creates a momentary(if you have a electronic boost controller) sucking and the turbo could spool freely and spike.

Bite me for reviving this thread... but just wanted to point out that the colder the air, the higher the density, and in turn the more air you can effectively squeeze in. When the air is finally warmed up, whether in or nearing the turbo, there would be more occupying the same space; higher psi. To keep from wrecking your turbo you'd need to compensate with opening the wastegate more, and then you're dumping a portion of the shot anyway... Only reasonable option would be a wet kit, but even then you have the same pressure spike, this time on engine internals. And this would be assuming NO2 is consistent, which it is certainly NOT.

The question becomes, are you comfortable with shocking either the engine internals or turbo, with a quick unpredictable pressure increase? I sure as hell wouldn't be, especially with my budget.

There's my .02...
