not meaning to steal anyones thread here, but what about the celica gts engine, the new one, 1.8 with 180hp beats out the gsr motor by ten horsepower but what about potential of that engine?
i heard celicas were also known as gsr killers

USDM B18C1 yeilds a 10:1cr and it's JDM version yields a 10.6:1cr. A USDM B18C5 yeilds a 10.6:1cr and it's JDM version yields a 11:1cr. Both engines can be boosted with no problems if tuned properly, with proper setups. A lot of people on this board seem to think you need a low compression in order to boost an engine. Lower compression just allows for more error in tunning and crappy 91 octane fuel. An H22A in an Integra is not a bad idea either. Yes you could have thrown boost at the B18C1, but obviously this person choose not to. The H22A produces more TQ then the B18C1, as well as more HP. I believe it only adds around 50lbs of weight to the Integra. Yes the composite sleeves are retarded, but if you're not going with a serious forced induction setup it doesn't really matter.

Why do you all hate hondas so much? Thats the one thing I cannot understand about most people here. Sure, most of them arent rwd so you can call yourself a dorifto master or whatever, but shit, they can still be build to be quick as hell and still look good. Its almost like car racism..........
I don't hate Honda's that much. I only like the S2k and Integra. Other than that, the other cars can goto hell.

I dont know why every body likes the integra over the civic. Same damn thing just heavier. A 96 hatch with a b20 was my second choice of car to my 240. Once I started shopping for motor swaps I found that I could buy an rb25 for about the same cost of a gsr. I was like thinking to myself, do I get a fwd with 180 hp, or a rwd with 250hp and some torque to match. Then there was the simple fact that turbo cars are alot easier/cheaper to build hp with. So for me it was a no brainer. Any one who wants to dismiss the facts is just being trendy.

Civic's usually come with inferior powerplants and a crummier suspension setup right out the box than most integras. Civic owners usually rely on integra parts, if you have an integra your already a step above the usual civic owner in terms of powerplant and drivetrain. Also the integra's engine bay will allow for a alot more different types of swaps with little or less modifications than the civic's i believe. On the civic almost any non-civic swap will involve replacement of weak parts like axels etc. . . . Even the base integra ls has the b18b powerplant which is perfect for turbocharging unlike most civic's where thier stock powerplants usually aren't even worth spending money on imo unless it's something like a late model si coupe. It's just a better and stronger overall chassis to build upon imo.

One of my favorites are eg6's though :D
nissan and honda, 2 different flavors. High performance n/a applications are usually always gonna be costlier than turbo applications. But for those that want a fun reliable n/a powered car, honda is a no brainer.

You forgot to ad brakes. Unless the hatch was an si it came with rear drums :ack versus the tegs discs. The swaps do require less modifications, depending on the swap, but not a big deal. Switch of the motor mounts and any thing will fit. Axles can be found in the junk yard, and suspension needs to be upgraded too. Just get the damn civic :thumbsup . 2700<2200

yeah thats an advantage the civic has, it's lighter. The brakes? I'd take those with the axels ofcourse, who wouldn't? Thats a dead given. I'd take anything mechanically useful from the donor teg, gotta be a fool not to :)
If I didn't want a full blown civic project car then i'd just pick up a teg and work on what it already has. I guess this is what makes people's decession.
