was wondering if there is any experts out there who changed out their own clutch in the s13.. i have a 91 s13 and i replaced the clutch with my bro.. what happens is this..ive been driving around maybe like 1 week with the new clutch then.....this all happened.. when i first started the car and drive the car its fine.. change gear up and down no problem.. as i am driving maybe around like say 10 min.. clutch pedel gets more stiff and clutch start to loose grip, rpm go up starting from i would say 4 or 5 gran and the car would barely go .... can n e one give me a suggestion?

thanks!

i replaced the master, slave cylinder, clutch disk and cover and good trans oil.. bled the pedel.. and now i really can't think what i did wrong? or maybe .. mmmm can some one helP?

sounds like your clutch is slipping, check your rear main, it may be bad. that will cause oil to get all over that pretty new clutch disc. thats just my 2 cents.

hey fortech.. so if the seal was leaking it would cost it to do that? i mean when i am driving it first starting up for 10 min is fine.. but as soon as hitting after 15 min it starts to get bad.. and eventually after 30 min or so .. it slips completely.. .... what would cost it to do that???? so frustrating! :embarasse

im having the same problem.. ive replaced my clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bushing, bleed the brakes. and everything else. only thing i havent replaced is my clutch master cylinder, and if thats not it... iono. My car was running pretty good for 206k miles and pulls hard but i decided to replace some stuff on my tranny and now my clutch wont disengage all the way, and i can go 10-15mph but it revs really high and it feels like the clutch is still half way in even tho i let go of the clutch. Iono im pretty sure its something between my clutch pedal to the slave cylinder that goes to the tranny, onlything left to replace is my master cylinder

so you are having the same exact problem as me crapstixs?

i am going to take it apart today again.. i just bought a factory manual this way i can torque everything right.. but neil if you can give me the torque spec in advance as i am still waiting on the book.. id appreciate it..

The manual says 16 - 22Ft/lb of torque, I did 20ft/lb. tighten evenly in a star pattern. I used some kerosene and scotch brite on the surface of the flywheel to clean it up so it properly bedded with the new disk.

i rebuilt the master cylinder, replaced the slave cylinder, replaced the whole clutch assembly. And now there is no pedal pressure, it just drops to the floor... i try to bleed it and pump it but it dosent hold pressure. only thing i can think of is the master cylinder just needs to be replaced or there is air in the line even tho i tried to bleed it a million times

let it sit overnight... thatll let air bubbles come together to form slugs. also dont pump it like crazy, thatll just airate the fluid more. Do you have a friend to help you bleed? If youre under the car and your friends inside it goes by way faster. Plus obviously keep a watchful eye on the fluid level. If you let the level accidentally get too low, when you press the pedal that last time youll suck air down into the line and have to start all over.

double check the lines too, make sure theyre snug and not leaking.
