I agree. I used to want one a while back. Very nice cars! Awesome handling! What else could you ask for?:D

More legroom, easier accesability to the engine and a backseat.
LOL! That is a good point. But I'm 5'7" so legroom is not that important to me. But that's me. I'm short. What can I say?

Funny, looks like I'm not the only making comparisons between an early 90s MR2 to a late model 240.

It's come down to either one of those two or a 68 Firebird 400 -- completely opposite direction.

Yeah they do, but wouldn't me much good for auto-x, which is why I want to pick up a 240 or MR2. Maybe a 400 and an old Z or earlier 240??

Dreaming, I would love a Challenger, with even just a six-pack -- no hemi. I can barely find any that are untouched and havn't been reconditioned. Those that have are easily over 20K. Crap.

Guess I gotta find out what has more utility to me. ~5500 to blow and can't decide on what to blow it on.

Kenne Bell SC, slicks and cams for truck
68 Firebird 400
95 240
or
90-91 MR2

Why can't I have them all.

Yeah restored cars are usually cheaper to get than to do yourself. But they are still expensive none the less.

Why blow any of the cash, I'd make a safe investment in a 240. I think you are gonna be happier with a 5000 dollar 240 than with a 5000 dollar mr2 or firebird. Theyre really do it all cars IMO

What about taking an early 90's mr2 N/A and putting the "J Spec" Turbo engine in it? I heard it would be a 13.5 before anything else was done to the car..

I don't know enough about mr2's to say, but didn't some US models come with turbo engines? How big of a difference is there between the two engines (US torbu and JDM turbo)?

I have no idea.. all I did was chuckle when this kid said he was buying a "j spec" turbo engine.. no offense to anyone on this board but I dont see the gains to do a complete engine swap for 15 hp.. I dont know how nissans' work with their engines ands tuff.. but like hondas that get their engine straight from japan for a couple grand for an extra 15hp.. I dont see the point

There isn't a huge difference between the JDM and USDM 3S-GTE engines (MR2 Turbo). The turbo are a little different, JDM being larger and one of the biggest selling points of the JDM engine is the use of a MAP sensor, instead of the MAF sensor on USDM engines.

Oh man...I hope I remembered correctly.
