removing manual window crank.. HELP!

im trying to remove my door panel cuz i wanna change my speakers.....

i have a 1990 240sx fast back with no power options.... so i have the manual crank windows.... and i was just wondering how do i take it off? 240sx.org doesnt say how to take it off =/

hmm.... cant really remember but i think there is a little clip that is in between the crank and the panel. just pull that out and then pull on the handle. anyone back me up on this?

if you have a little small flat head screwdriver or a small round hook thingee you can get that clip to come out wit some work... make sure you get the round end of the clip ... good luck

I used some needle nose pliers (sp?) to pull mine out.

me too, i just did that today, actually. If you want to be ghetto you could use a coat hanger i guess but then how you get it back on i dunno

i got that tool at my local NAPA store for 5 bucks..... ya... i was wondering... does it go back on easy? like does it just snap into place?

if you take the metal piece from a windshield wiper blade into a hook it works great

Just remember not to push the crank while youre reinstalling your pin. Mine is somewhere in my yard now :/ Havent had time to get a new one from nissan/junkyard

what do u mean push the crank? when u take off the crank with the tool..... doesnt the pin or clip just stay there?

Well when I did it, my pliers had a hard time fitting the pin back in, so i pulled the crank out a little bit, stuck the pin in and pushed the crank back. All of the sudden, the pin flew out at a crazy speed.

the easiest way and also the correct way to install the window crank is first place the pin on the crank and making sure it's stable in place.... then easily snap it back on to the door... NOT putting on the crank on the door first then struggle to slide the pin in place...

yea man..just take your time..you can pry it out with a flat head or some pliers but it gets very frustrating..usually most of the time..i just yanked it out and brake it lol...but take off the main screws and the rest are clips...have fun hehe

it went in no problem for me using a long pair of needlenose, installing the clip from the back side of the crank handle... not from underneath the handle itself but from the back side.

omg my dad got so pissed at me when he asked me where the C pin i took out was... i was like uhh i think it flew somewhere.... i was on the driverside door and it flew all the way to the other side of the car./.
