I want to see a drifting-tuned BMW M3.
it may not be drift-tuned or whatever but in driftworks, there are some bimmers drifting madly

oh, and esare is an idiot

i think most people didn't like the gto because drifting started in japan, and ithe gto is not japanese. so they think, what the hell is that doing here? but i wouldn't mind seeing cars like that there, as long as they(driver) can actually drift it. cause i'm sure it takes more skill to drift with a heavy car with a lot of torque. i didn't see the gto drift, but from what i hear he did pretty good for a first time. hell, i think it would be cool to see a john deer tractor drift, but that might be impossible.

the GTO that they have is a fully built suspention beast. and all you really need to drift is rwd LSD suspention helps. all of you shut up and drive...

it may be a fad right now, but it'll never go away. in the 50's, "lead sleds" were all the rage, in the '60s and '70s, NASCAR and NHRA were huge, in the '80s, F1 and CART experienced their largest audiences ever. The '90s experienced the "import" explosion with all the small-displacement high revving engines beginning to rival the traditional muscle cars. Now it seems drifting is taking over, but do you see any of those other sports dying out? Far from it! NHRA has the largest number of cars competing this year in their history. NASCAR is watched by over 12 million people here. SCCA racing has increasing number of participants every year, and now with the creation of the Formula Drift events, i feel it's here to stay. It may be the black sheep in traditional motorsports, but even so, somebody will want to do it, now and in the future.

How am i an idiot when i say that american cars cant drift as well as japanese, and that i hate cars with a bunch of stickers on them , like civics and neons with drift stickers. Neons with drift stickers. Yeah, like you wouldnt flame that for a minute. Icntspl, your the idiot.

If american cars want to drift let em. Im not even mad at the GTO, it is just all the rice that will follow it(neons with DRIFT stickers) that pisses me off, and if that makes me an idiot, then fine

it's not the car's ability to drift, it's the driver's ability to drift.

dude just stfu. wtf does drifting have to do w/ fucking stickers? pull ur fucking head outta ur ass. dont act like u havent seen a 240 with drift stickers. yea i would flame if i saw gay stickers on any car, but guess what? not every fucking drift car domestic or not has sticker on it.
so you hating something stupid and making up excuse after excuse to make domestics look bad, you are the idiot.

Back on topic, Car and Driver was retarded to make that statement in their mag the same month that they're launching their new import tuning magazine. I flipped through it, and honestely, it didn't look like anything much. Their comment shows that deep down inside even these supposedly "unbiased" editors still have ignorant opinions. If I'm in the mood, I'll shoot them a letter.

Wow, i gotta admit, this is the first forum i have ever joined where there are TONS of unbiased people. People who just appreciate any car no matter what its good at.

To the person who said the GTO was made to go straight... what u talkin about? Its america's first half way decently balanced car (besides the z06) and its got stock 245's with shitty sidewalls. U driven one yet? All it does is spin in 1st and 2nd if hammered. Hardly a straightline car if u ask me. The camaro and TA's are more suitable w/ bigger tires and a solid rear axle from factory.

I think its kool to see the GTO drift. massive amounts of torque and power smokin em up. But i gotta respect the 240's, toyotas, rx-7's and such screamin around those turns. Just flat out awesome.

i really wanted to avoid commenting in here again because i think this thread is pretty gay, but, my friend is in houston right now and says rhys is absolutly ripping it up in the GTO at the D1 practice. he also said there is a ford marauder out there sliding around. id love to see that.

some people have to face the facts that with drifting and the d1 being brought state side, they are going to have to realize that there will be domestic cars getting a peice of the action. it is america after all we aren't in japan, seems like there are some people with trouble breaking away from that logic.

i hate how people consider drifting a religion, that you can only convert to by buying a japanese car to drift with.

its utterly ridiculous.

im sure there are some here that can't drift, but then they smash the american domestics for drifting when they can't even do it with their beat up 240 to being with.

haters gonna hate
