Right now here is what Im looking at. I picked up a 1993 240sx auto with light front end damage and a blown ka for cheap. I plan on doing a rb25det motor swap and s13 jdm front end conversion. So far this is what I assume...

The rb25det motor out of the r32 will bolt into the 240 using all cross members from the skyline. the transmission crossmember has some issues fitting. I have no idea what the wiring is going to be like or how hard it will be. I havent looked under this car or even started on doing much except for body work on the front end getting it fixed. I just need to weld on the rest of the radiator support now. It has no radiator by the way. A/c is coming out, the sound proof shit in the floor is coming out. No carpet will be put back in. Im putting in a roll cage and tow hooks to get it up to d1gp specs. I plan to get a Front mount for it. A walbro 255lph fuel pump will be installed at the time of the swap. I understand they come in a low pressure and high pressure pump.

Also I understand I can use the stock crossmembers if I get a mckinnney mount kit. Using the mckinney mounts will fix the following problems: Shifter being 1.5" forward, sway bar hitting oil pan, hood clearance. I also hear that a place called top hat performance makes mounts for cheaper but I havent heard any feed back from anyone who has used them. I have swapped a few motors before: 1986 chevy s10/ 350motor, b16/crx, h22a/civic, h22a/accord(my daily driver), h22a/h23a prelude, pos buick century motor 2.8/pontiac 6000, soon to be 1985 corolla gts/4agze (assisting on that swap in a shop I work for). Im not new to swapping motors but I am new to nissans. I will also need a custom drive shaft made at the local machine shop. If I am wrong on any of this please correct me. I also learned not to deal with night7 because he apparently is dishonest. Mckinney seems to be really proud of thier products but if they are good they have a right to be. I dont want to bet around the bush with this swap so please help me out with it. I want to have the car on the road by winter if I can. Im trying to keep the cost down below 5k if at all possible for motor work only. If I have to pay more for it to not be ghetto rigged then I will. I want it done right but I want to do it myself so I am farmiliar with the car more plus I have been fucked over too many times by other people. :12dunno

After reading your post I couldn't really find any kind of question that we could answer. So I'm just going to go with what I know. There is a low pressure and high pressure pump from what I remember you want the high pressure one. I've never done business with Night7 but from reading past threads and seeing what some people like Dekand had to say I would steer clear of him. Night7 I believe uses Top Hat parts ie. motor mounts so if you've heard of a problem with Night7's motor mounts than it'll be the same for Top Hat. Mickinney makes quality stuff you just have to dish out more money for it. They make a driveshaft as well but like you said you can go to a driveshaft shop with some meausurements and get one made for you (for reference, how to measure a driveshaft http://www.driveshaftshop.com/Shaftmes.htm ). It's good you have lots of experience swapping engines, lots of guys have done this swap without any prior experience. By the way is your s13 a coupe or fastback?

The R32 never had the RB25DET, Top Hat Mounts were intended for the RB20, not the RB25...they will tell you the same, you want the high pressure fuel pump, the low pressure is for carbeurated setups...you WILL need to get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, the stock one cant handle the flow of the Walbro and richens the hell outta your motor.

Your assumptions about vendors is pretty much correct...I guess the Better Business Bureau has Night 7 in "unfavorable" status.

Any questions about the install, email jbpowell@nycap.rr.com and I will be GLAD to help you out.

the old unstable mounts were made by tophat, but are not the same nor close to the current top hat ones, dont confuse the two as the UH ones were kinda sketchy but the newer top hat ones work a charm on the install ive seen.
