Different Turbos

I did a search and didnt really get what i was lookin for.....

All ive heard so far is that the 14b DSM turbo is the best turbo taken off of a stock car to put it on a 240sx. Any turbo from a twin turbo car is garbage because the turbos are tiny. How about SAAB turbos? The reason why I want to know is because Volvo and SAAB turbos are easier to come by than DSM turbos (atleast where I live and on Ebay). Furthermore, Sidemount Intercoolers..best one off of which car? and best spot to put it in the car (I have a 96 240sx).

Any and all info is appreciated...

get a toyota supra intercooler or starion the supra intercoolers are really nice for a stock intercooler especially the mkiv. what is the 14b turbo what did it come on? I know mitsubuishi likes the tdo4 on the auto talons and tdo5 on the manuals wrx's uses a tdo4h 300zx tt uses t25's I'd get a super t28 spool fast as hell and will support descent power.

stick with nissan. the z31 T3 if you can find one in good condition is the best stock turbo for 240sx. its basically a T3 60trim, I think, and a .63 exhaust.

the differences lie in the size of the wheels, and actual size. T25 is tiny, even too small, some may say, for any real power on the 2L SR. but a T3 is a generally larger turbo, turbine is bigger, and compressor flows more.

for intercoolers, I was able to get a saab sidemount to fit very nicely with a little cutting of the metal under the hood. but a sidemount is a good thing to start on. but in a project like this, you will be going front mount eventually, so you might as well pick up a starion front mount cheaply. I got mine for 150 shipped from CA to NH, with professionally modded endtanks.
