I've been searching for a 91-93 240sx se good condition with no spoiler or rust for around 2 months now. I finally found a 93 240sx se with no spoiler near my area, but the bad part is it's automatic. I'm planning on doing the sr swap in june, so should i just get the automatic and pay aroudn 600 extra for the auto->Manual at the same time for the sr swap, or keep on trying to find a 93240sx se manual.
-If i buy the 240sx right now it would be in my garage until i get 7000 bucks for the auto->manual plus the sr swap which would be aroud june.

no, i want manual. Im thinking it won't matter if i buy auto or manual now because i am going to do the sr swap in june. I would be paying around 600 bucks more to get the parts to make it manual. My question is if i buy the auto 240sx right now it would be in my garage doing nothing until around june. Should i just save my money and keep looking for a manual (black, Charcoal, white) 240sx in good condition which is very hard.

-Thanks

front clips usually cost more than just buying a really good SR20DET with transmission, also with a stick you don't have to worry about modifying/putting a shifter in an automatic's interior. It's a preference, many like the idea of having a front clip for parts and many don't like having to lug around a front end of car and finding a spot to put it.

in the words of DMX.." dont do it dog, it's just not worth it" to me part of owning a sports car is changing gears, ban autos i say, and i find it weird that a SE 240 comes without the spoiler, i have only ever seen the base 240's without them, but i maybe wrong

yeah, he is saying it will cost him an extra six hundred because even though the tranny comes with his swap there are parts he will need.

master cylinder, hydraulic lines, putting a shifter in his interior, shit like that. so i think unstable charges and extra 600 for the auto to manual changeover and thats what he is reffering to.

I would say do it, but look around a little bit more first.

yeah, i've decided to wait after i finish spring semester, and get a 95 240sx manual since my parents garantee me 5000 bucks if i transfer to a better college.. Right now im getting 1k a month working part time which will add up to 8k for the swap in the summer.
Thanks for all help guys will be lurking around the forums for awhile until i get my 240.

My 240's a 5-spd...

I've never driven an auto in my life, so I really wouldn't know... but dropping the cluth at 7k into 3rd, and chirping the tires?

*DING DING DING*

We have a winner! Lets see ya do THAT in an auto...

I LOVE my car.

yeah all i can say to people with autos is sorry, you know if i had a caddy or Impala or even a musle car i wouldnt care but some cars just need to be manual to get that feel, i know i couldnt stand my car if it was auto, theres no fun

I used to drive Auto, yet my 5 speed 240 is the reason everything makes sense in life. Like, y do Japanese people enjoy getting up early to take a drive around the mountains and just make a few turns even if they are not drifitng.

ANSWER: Because for some reason manual makes everything but traffic fun. I like to save gas so I catch a ride to school with a friend down the street from me, Yet I wake up an extra 20 minutes early so I can drive up and down the hills of my valley, shifitng trynna double clutch and basically just acting like I am an N1 driver for 10 minutes(yet I only rev to like 3500).

You can get the auto for now, yet make sure with the SR you get 5 speed.
