ok so I'm using my old Sohc airbox with the sohc MAF and I have a KA24DE in my 1990 240sx. It runs extremely rich if the MAF is plugged in, and ok if its not plugged in. I read that if the MAF isn't working the ECU defaults to a different air/fuel ratio sensor, so I think that is what is happening. Anyway if I run my engine like this for a month or so will it really do any harm to the engine besides wasting some gas? And not being driven hard at all.
Second question, I've read that a Ford cobra MAF is a good replacement to get if turboing because of the MAF's ability to calibrate (read?) a larger volume of air ? So maybe getting a cobra MAF would be a more economical choice if planning to turbo down the line, which I am. So if anybody knows more info on this please post, ok thanks
