In the world of import modification, one of the main things we are all striving for is to be "different" and aserting our individuality. Unfortunatly, as the years have progressed (esppecially since the certain "smash hit" movies about our scene), it has become harder and harder to that. From the much hated on Civic, to our beloved 240s, its become nearly impossible to be different. Recently, I was out staring at my car (which i do frequently) and realized that hey, my stock body doesn't look bad. The more I looked, the more I liked it. Even though the are out there, I think thats its rare to see a stock body 240 that can run. I think it would be great to more of um. So what do you guys think? Stock or kitted?

Yeah I feel you man. The other day I was eating burritos with my friend when he tells me he just realized how cool my car looked. I love the lines of the hatchback, they just flow together and the front is awesome looking with its turn signals and big front opening, not to mention pop up headlights! Sometimes at night before I goto sleep I stare at my car for a few seconds, black really looks good at night. :D

Oh and I say stock, everything else just seems tacky to me.

Well I'm getting an oem style cf hood. the last owner of my car left something under the hood and tried to close it.... hard. Plus its rusted but I think cf looks good on a black car... or should I paint it black? Maybe when it fades.

NRG, I completley agree with you. I like only a handful of bodykits because like you said, most of em are just plain fugly. GP Sports makes some of the best kits out there because I think that they keep more of a stock look. I Like Stock! OEM Modified.

STOCK!!! 240s are clean lookin cars stock, so don't mess that up.. it's all the better to beat a v8 with an attitude if you're an unkitted import!! :D

I completely agree with you. Stock looks better. I think when people mod their car asthetically, it tells me that the owner is an attention seeker and is somewhat immature.

My Prelude looks completely stock from outside. I even painted my aftermarket exhaust flat black so that it was less obvious. All I did to the appearance of the car was tinting my turn signals. They turned out really well.

My 240 will be the same. I don't care what others think about me, nor do I want the attention. I have enough self-esteem. I just want a nice car that performs well. Besides, not spending money on the asthetic mods makes this hobby easier on the wallet and it allows for better performance upgrades. Also, it will be less likely to be stolen or vandlaized. *knock on wood*

Stock 240's are awesome looking. Just the body lines of the hatchback and the coupe and the fact that you can intergrate the other stock parts (I.E. silvia front end on the hatch or our american coupe, Onevia)

It's amazing and the nissan factory options kick ass too the Type - X spoiler the Kouki front end SHIT Y DIDN'T WE GET THAT STUFF!!!!! I haven't seen many other car companies w/ so many options

Yea.,,, 240's are the shit!

I say if your going to put a kit let it be jdm stock parts. I know the whole jdm thing is there body componets seem to be low key and flow with the car good.

Plus, before i wrecked my s14 <96> i just had the se front lip with the 97 se sideskirts. Very simple yet extremely sexy!

i would have to say stock/type x for the hatchbacks. and silvia s13 fronts for coupes. that's all they need looks wise. it's kinda like the rx7 in the way it looks good stock.

OEM is always a great way to go, everything always looks awesome on our cars, but I think a lot of the kits out there look good too, but that is always the last thing you should buy for your car.

I'm going with the trust kit, looks like the stock N1 front bumper but with a molded lip:
