Actually the USDM car does have a bigger compressor..its also rated at 276hp....which is still less than the 300 the STI has but this MR would take an STI anyday any setting.... yes the USDM car has 276hp and a larger comp. housing....:thumbsup this car is simply amazing get over it...ur just a hater becaus u probably cant have one.....HATER :happyfing
The MR is not the only sub-model Evo that is rated at 276 hp...<_<

But, I'm not being a hater. I'm just disappointed considering what Subaru did to the STi. I just thought Mitsu woud do that same

So shut up hater. :p

well actually mitsubishi gave the evo an active center diff before subaru...so thats new the MR has all new bilstien shocks also...so thats new...just cause it doesnt have 300hp doesn't mean that it wont trounce the STI

forgot about the bilstiens, they say it rides smoother than the old evo, and handles even better

BTW, the mr will eat up an sti, oh wait, some one said that 3 times already but you still like the sti

handles better, rides smoother, goes faster in the 1/4 with less hp, tried and true 4g63, aftermarket for 4g63 is endless as well as experinced shops and tuners

sti or evo? evo hands down.

Yeah, the car is hot no matter what anyone says. If I could afford it, my 240 would be gone in a heartbeat. In fact, it has me seriously reconsidering whether or not I want to mod my car in the future.

THAT I did not know about. But, the MR should have ATLEAST came with those kick ass blacked out heads and tails dude.

Boy do those look awesome..:heyhey

The only thing the sti has over the evo is raw hp which quickly diminishes once both cars become modified, other than that subaru didn't give a whole lot to the enthusiast just more weight and pretty much more of the same although both evo and sti are really great cars for the money. The 2.0L engine is a restriction due to wrc, so the 2.5L is useless for subaru in that area so it won't get the r&d or refinement of the original engine, it isn't as developed or proven as the 4g63 or the ej20 and no it's not the same engine from the 2.5rs. Also an sti with a 2.0L is prolly more fun to drive as putting a bigger displacement 2.5L completely changes the driving dynamics of the car. The 2.5L engine is more of a u.s. marketing decision more than anything else since here in the u.s. it fits with the "bigger is better modo" Hence small pickups with gas guzzling v8's and etc. . .
Thier are various levels of evo's overseas all of them have the standard 271-280hp rating except for the fq300 which is the level after MR, this is 302hp(with comparable tq) evo.

The clear tails, well thier on euro evo's as well. Big deal just buy the jdm tails which are available off the shelf in many tuner shops. Or some red tailight paint and hide the corny part of the light, someone did this at sema and it looked pretty damn good since I thought they had gotten the jdm tails until I looked very closely and hard and the owner told me it was paint.

I agree mitsu enthusiasts got shafted when it comes to the ayc/acd system that didn't initially come. But at least mitsu actually brang the car over and no matter what trim of evo you pick, no other car out there can beat it for the money.

I don't see how anyone could dislike the evo from a performance standpoint. If a 10yr warranted car that will haul groceries, people and get you through the winter while still being able to whoop ass in nearly every motorsport and hang with cars costing 3x as much sounds like a bad thing than I don't know what to tell you. :12dunno

If I had the money i'd buy both cars. I'd buy an sti and goto sti meets and get an evo and goto evo events and keep my bi-ownership a secrecy until one day I bring out an evo to an sti event and vice versa to see the shocked looks on thier faces :gaylaugh

but why must it be so very ugly? I mean, the least they could have done was make it a coupe.
that's your opinion. btw, a coupe would be hideous. photoshop one sometime and see how you like it...oh wait, that's an opinion too...."who'd a thunk it".
ugly to some is nice to others. personally, i like it, afterall, it's function over form (unlike many cars). it's as aggressive looking, and aggressive on the track (w/ the right driver of course).
i'd own one if i wasn't well....a poor college student. the STI would be my second choice for awd, but that'll never happen.

dude? Let's not do this, it could go on for days. Mustang, 2 wheel drive, super heavy, old and without warranty, hardly economic or reliable. Caddy, again super heavy, nowhere near the handling or balance, also 2 wheel drive, and not sure about gm warranty but I doubt it rivals mitsu's 100,000 mile drive train warranty. Again unsure, but isn't the caddy an auto?

The z06? Great car. Won't give you much guf about that one other than it costs near 2 times as much, and reliability is sum thing to be desired with the corvette, as well as warranty. You have to realize the difference between a 55k car and 35k car is alot to some people, although I realize you were tryin to fit esco's criteria.

Evo mr, is just in a class of it's own though. in my opinion it was good before, but mitsu took the initiative and made it great. I had not ever considered one til I read reviews about the mr. Ive got teh fever for one too now

ZO6? CTS-V? Fully modified 5.0's that you can get for about 20k? :12dunno

Not only did he say STOCK PRODUCTION CAR (ruling out the 5.0) but 5.0's are peices of ******* crap... They suck no matter how fast u can get them they cant handle worth crap. :happyfing . the z06 is one ill give u because yea its awesome BUT the evo is four doors AND the evo is 20g's less which if u put those 20 g's into the evo it would be unreal. FOUR DOORS AND ALL. so what would u do if u had the money to buy either an MR and add to it with 20g's or a stock z06....i would choose the evo cause i could show 4 of my friends how much faster i am than the z06 with the balding 50 year old in it :gaylaugh
