Does the SR normally backfire? I just got my SR for about a 2 week and its starting backfire a bit. Not a lot but some. Is it something to worry about? Or its normal? Thanks for your help

like nrg said if you are running an atmosphereic bov then the rich period between shifts or when ever the bov opens causes a lack of air that has already been accounted for. the extra fuel in the chambers may not get completly burned. and any unburned fuel or hydrocarbons may ignite in the exhaust if its hot enough, thus producing flames/backfire. as far as i know its no big deal. many modded cars backfire, race cars do it all the time. ive even seen stock RX-8's back fire when they let off the throttle.
yes it backfires a little, no you shouldnt be worried. the ecu runs the motor super rich and i could explain to you why it backfires but im tired and i need sleep. when it starts to sound like a 12 gauge then get worried.
yeah if you have an exhaust, it will usually just pop and burble a little bit, I have an open exhaust from the turbo back and it pops all the time when im shifting while driving slow and when i decelerate at low rpms while in gear. If you ever hear a stock SRT-4... they do the exact same thing.
yes Its a small poping sound that happens when I'm shifting from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd or let the gas go off at 6th gear quickly and my BOV is not vented. But it does not happen all the time. Also I have a 3" cat as well. I do not know about the flames (since I can not see the back while driving) but I will continue to listen to it. Thanks
Mine does it all the time, open 3" turbo back, heck do to my leak in my intercooler pipes (stock) I have a rough idle and even hear the shotgun blast once in awhile.
i promise it doesnt sound like a shot gun, cause if it did that all the time 1. you would have a cat any more, 2. the muffler would be gone, and finally the engine would have blown itself up. mine makes those loud pops too on a regular basis and yes it will shoot flames when i ride it hard, but most high performance cars do that no big.
