i have a 5 speed s13 SR and it came with a #63 ECU. will that ecu work or do i need to get a new one???

63?? I've seen it but I can't remember where. If you have a red top, then you need a 62. And like VASH said E5 is for black top SR's. Good luck

my friend had a 63 in his. it was an auto swapped to manual but the auto ecu is a 61 right? well anyways the 63 did work in his

E5 is from a 94-96 180sx blacktop 5 speed
E6 is from a 94-96 180sx blacktop auto
WC is from a 94-98 S14 Silvia
62 is from a 91-93 180sx or S13 Silvia 5 speed
61,63 is from a 91-93 180sx or S13 Silvia auto
J4 is from a 97-98 180sx Type X 5 speed
from what i heard 61, 62, 63 works fine with redtop 5speed but 62 will not work with auto.
E5 is from a 94-96 180sx blacktop 5 speed
E6 is from a 94-96 180sx blacktop auto
WC is from a 94-98 S14 Silvia

So your saying that an auto ECU will work if you put in a 5 speed tranny in the car?? Where did you hear this from??
Need to know cause I'm doing a tranny swap.
