I have a GReddy Ti exhaust and it's way too loud for my tastes. At first I thought it would be cool to have a loud exhaust but it drones too loud when cruising.

Will a high-flow cat such as a Catco decrease my sound levels by a good amount? Or is it not even worth bothering to reduce noise?

I've read that I will lose a few HP by running this rather than a straight pipe, but that is fine to me for the reduction in noise and saving the planet.

If I can't solve the problem with a high flow cat then I will probably get a GReddy Power Extreme 2 as it is JASMA certified.

Thanks,
Victor

My exhaust (Greddy TR EVO II) was MUCH quieter with the high flow cat converter but I also wasn't boosting as high. I had only driven less than 5000 miles with the 240SX last year so I took the cat off after the smog test. If I ever travel, I'll put the silencer on. I could see myself going crazy without it on a long trip.

a high flow cat will dampen the noise a bit but probably wont make it as quiet as you want I went from a test pipe to a catco highflow and once I lay into it it's almost just as loud as it was before but for jsut cruising aorund town it's tame enough for me
