well yesterday i forked out my net worth and bought an air compressor. It was a complete pain in the ass, the sears that i went to had complete shit sercive. it took like 30min to see if they had any on stock, the sale price that i expected to pay for it ended the day before, when i got back to teh house i unloaded it only to find they gave me the wrong one, drove 30min back to the store, another 30min to exchange it, tried to buy some sanding discs for the air sander i bought, they didnt register in the system so teh guy said i cant sell it, nobody knew anything about air compressors when i needed help, it was just a big pain in the ass. i still dont know much about them but just finished up reading the owners manual. i will fire it up today.

thats without the $40 air sander, and i still need discs, and i now belive i need air tool oil!?!

it was on sale for 300 3 days ago but i missed the sale so it was 330.

THIS THING SCARED THE SHIT OUTTA ME!!!! this afternoon i went though the manual and followed the break in process... open drian valve, check. plug in compressor, check. move switch to on/auto and let compressor run for 15min. ok so i flip the switch and it doesnt do anything for about 2sec then it fires up and its is FUCKING LOUD!!! i was like holy shit and ran back like 10 feet. after 15min i closed up the drain valve and let it build pressure to 150psi (took longer than i thought it would) and it cut out at 150. i tinkered around with the air wrench, screwed in some fittings and quick connects. even the tools are loud, says 85db in the manual. i ran the wrench, muahahhaha air power baby :). i didnt try the air sander because i didnt know im supposed to have air tool oil so i need to get that, nor do i have and sanding discs and also a much longer hose, the one it came with is a pos coiled hose that is like 4 ft long. i dont have money to get a hose. well maybe i can look in couch. the scariest part is when i went to bleed the tank... i pulled on the safty ring and the thing poped out and made a loud ass PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH stream of air and it scared me crazy too, haha im so afraid that thing is going to explode. my mom is going to hate this thing. i want to try some painting :D

yup.

i need to go back to sears, i fucking hate thoes people. i need to return the air sander because there is somthing stuck in the inlet hole and i cant screw in a male fitting all the way. im not going to get a new one either im going to get some stuff off ebay and save some money. need air hose as well, sanding discs too. if they dont sell them to me im just going to "barrow" them.

BTW, check out Harbor Freight or Northern Tools.

Air tools are loud. My 1/2 drive ratchet will wake the dead.

This afternoon I was under my car with a die grinder, trying to get the trans mount on my RB20DET to fit, and was enlarging the hole over my head.

My ears are still ringing.

yea i might stick something in my ears when i spend hours at a time using the air tools. ouch 9%. yea welding hank told me about harbor freight, simply the most beautiful site ive ever seen.
 
hey what's the diff. between the red one and the black one?

Is yours maintance free?

and single or two stage what does it mean? sorry for some many questions...

they are both oil free, i think 2 stage is that it fills the tank with 2 stages. vs my single stange. 2 stage is supposed to be more efficient and run cooler. but its also way more expensive than mine.
