180sx vlsd internals

quick question that i couldn't find: will the internals from a 180sx vsld go right into an s13 open differential pumpkin? seems like it should, but i'm not positive :12dunno

works fine, just make sure not to mix up shims.

Oh yeah you also need vlsd half shafts. One is longer then the other so it can reach the vlsd puck. If it's from japan they might be 5 bolt ones, try to get 6 bolt ones to make your life easier.

Don't buy in from autozone get a used one on EBAY! It's soooo much cheaper!

I got the JDM 180sx lsd and axles for $250-300 shipped from ebay. A good bit of the price was shipping that sucker.

how about the s15 lsd? what do i need to make it work on an s13?

Output shafts. They are different then the VLSD ones. They also cost more and are much harder to find. S15 diff is soooo much better then the crappy s13/14 VLSDs though.

why not just get a kaaz or nismo 1.5 way, I've heard good things from theirs, not tooo terribly priced for new.

i might go that route. i was just wondering cause i remember seeing an s15 diff on ebay that sold for a relatively cheap

Sorry a little late but Kaaz dosen't sell their new 16 plate diff in 1.5way and Nismo dosen't offer a diff in the USA that is 1.5way.

Isn't S15 LSD's helical? If thats the case, go get a Quaife.

The S15 spec R diffs are helical.

Geez, and the clutch type is cheaper and better for drift/drag anyways.

the nismo one isnt 1.5?

yeah the nismo only comes in 2way. the j30 is hard to find :tears
