Well today me and andrew(atlong) picked up a 1990 240sx (SOHC) for $200!!! Its in pretty bad condition but I'm sure with time and a decend amount of money we can get it to our likings. Its black (soon to be red) with some pretty serious body issues. The interior of the car is fairly nice so thats a definate plus. But just tell us what you think and we'll have some pictures of the drift/track slut tomorrow. So give us your feed back and keep in mind all donations (even just some sandpaper) would be highly appreciated. Later

hey this is the other owner of it. Yeah we picked it up and it is awsome having 2 of them. it will need tons of work and love. Well get some pics of it tom and post them up. One thing that fuckhole left out is its a 5 speed and is gonna need a new motor.

1/2 owner bitch. and yea its gunna need a new motor and that 5-speed may possibly swap to my car eventually.

Damn you guys got one hell of a price, I can't find a price like that if my life depended on it. I wish I can pick up a s13 for that price. Over here when I was at a 240 shop and I asked them about pricing they said they can get me a s13 shell for $800, but that would have no interior or engine, when they said that my mouth just dropped and said "No its ok, I'll just keep looking".

Yeah we did get a pretty damn good deal and I think the guy didn't really know what he was selling. I think he was more or less just trying to get rid of it. Thanks for the input and good luck on your search man!!! Later

Hmmm, if it needs that much work....I would not say you got a good deal. Bodywork....needs a new engine (doesn't run) doesn't sound like a good deal to me unless you are planning on putting a lot of money into it. Then I would say you got a good deal. :12dunno

Were you planning to swap body panels and paint it anyway?? Were you planning to swap motors in it too?? If so, then yes, you got a good deal. :thumbsup If not, it could end up costing more to get it to the point of what running 240's cost.

Are you sure it doesn't have any rust issues??

I bought my running 89 hatch SE fully loaded with good paint, not much rust damage, new tires, and a CD player for $750. It had a bogging issue, still does. I've spent over $250 trying to figure out what is causing it....and I STILL have not found the issue. I am growing VERY frustrated now. :crazyrant

Oh well....good luck with it. I hope it turns out to be what you were expecting. Be careful with the 50/50 ownership. It has a high probability of getting ugly later down the road. :)

Have you checked fuel issues; ie fuel filter, fuel pump. Check stupid little things before checking big things. If you are right with little issues it does not cost much, and if not they probilly needed to be changed anyway.

I changed the spark plugs, wires, dist. cap, rotor, O2 sensor, fuel pump (Walbro..was going to change it anyway), coolant temp switch, re-ground the car, change the negative battery wire, cleaned battery terminals, upgraded to a 300ZX TT fuel filter, and changed the oil.

I think it is the catalytic converter. I am going to change it next. It's not too expensive. :12dunno

I got this 240 for 200.00 also, nice interior and exterior. The only thing the motor was blown (did not care had SR waiting to be put in) I sold all the good parts from the motor and came out even. Talk about a free car

it doesnt have hardly any rust any at all. we are plannin on a new motor and we are gonna do all of the body work ourselves. so i think we got a very kick ass deal. i am at skool right now in a comp class so i cant get pics of it right now but we will get pics of it tonight or this afternoon when i get home from skool. the interior is in excelent condition cept for the shift knob and boot. ill get pics after skool thanks for all the comments.

Good deal, but sounds like it might be more trouble then its worth.

I picked up my 91 hatch, 2 year old paint job, no dents or rust, perfect interior except steering wheel cracked (had another one) and the dreaded driver seat tear (seat covers were already on it). One of the camshafts snapped but that was fine cause I put an SR in it anyways. All that for $800 shipped from New Jersey. I was pretty happy.

u guys suck i bought mine for 2300, plus i had to ship it from alabam. But i think it's perfect for me. Plus coupes are harder to find, and my car has no body damage, and i can take off my exhaust bolts by hand. a chasis with no rust = priceless.

yeah and it was raining and misting and really foggy so we couldne get any pics. will try tom if the weather permits it. i dont think it is more of a hassel than it is worth bc it was 200 bucks and we are only 16 working on this car so we will have tons of free time and what not. just needs a little tender love and care. thanks for the replys.
